Linda was one of the most special people I remember from school, and then to have my children go to school where Linda was secretary was a blessing. This allowed me to continue to interact and enjoy Linda's sweet personality. I send my deepest condolences to the family. My daughers remember her with great fondness as well. Tom, Penny, Heather, Amber and Brandi Devine.

I just arrived home from the memorial service and reception. What a lovely and moving celebration of a beautiful womans life. I knew Linda through our stamp group that met once a month for the last 51/2 years. I was so blessed to have known her. She and her sister Priscilla can light up a room when they walk into it together. The love they have for each other is so contagious and bubbling over. My heart goes out to all of you and just know that you are in my prayers. I am glad that I got to call Linda "friend". I will miss her always.

Linda was a woman with a special glow; she was a welcoming presence at the schools and neighborhood we shared. A woman whose loyalty and love proved that a Romeo and Juliet romance of young love could indeed last a lifetime and blossom into an amazing family that continues to bless our community.
My condolences to Dean and your sons; may God give you strength and comfort through warm memories of this exceptional woman.

We were so sorry to hear about Linda. She will always be in our hearts. She will always be one of the truely "Beautiful people". She always had a smile and kind words for everyone, no matter who they were. I can never forget all the good times I had with Linda and Dean through the Michael T, Tumwater High, and Centralia Co. days and growing up with Dean in the neighborhood. I will always remember many, many fond and funny stories from the times we shared during the days we commuted to and from THS and Centr. Co. We are so blessed to have known Linda. Our deepest sympathy to Dean and your family and all of Linda's family.

Linda was one of the nicest, sweetest people I have ever know. She always had a wonderful sense of humor and looked at life with an opened mind. It didn't matter who you were she was kind and considerate to all. I can't imagine anyone ever saying anything against her. She was loved and will always have such a good spot in my heart and in the hearts of my children. God Bless the Winner family and always remember how much your wife, mother, and grandmother were loved.

Linda was the first Olympian I met as I prepared to move to Olympia. I brought my son to visit his new school and she was very welcoming. She made me feel like all would be fine in my new home town. I think of her often because she was such a wonderful person to have at the school. Although I didn't know her well outside of school, she always treated me like I was a close friend. My condolences to her family on your tremendous loss.

During our 20 plus years together and flying with Dean made me know how wonderful of a person Linda was. Linda was always in the middle of what ever was going on. Parties at the hanger or in Olympia. I remember when we all took tennis lessions together and the great time we had. Linda will always have a place in our hearts and will never be forgotten.

Linda was an extra ordinary person, so filled with love, caring and always ready to assist in any way. It was such a privilege to have Linda in our lives for nearly 36 years. Linda's and my friendship began at McKinlely Elementary school in 1973. It was then that our long time friendship began. Pat always said that Linda was the BEST secretary any one could have. He loved walking into the office and hearing Linda call each student and parent by their first name. Our hearts were truly broken with Linda's passing. Our love and support are with you, Dean, and your entire family. We are always here for you. With love, Pat and Betty

I knew Linda through Faith, Dina and Meadows Elementary. She volunteered for the Passports program, race events and any other time she was available. The most distinct memory I have of her, though, was at the Capital City Marathon - where she worked a water station. Her personality was so uplifting that after running several miles, it was encouraging to stop and talk with her for a few minutes before continuing. The "personal touch" she offered was even more evident in Faith - in conversations during the after-school drive home last year. Faith spoke of the quilt she had made or the scrapbook prepared with Linda. She spoke about Linda picking her up and spending time together. Linda's devotion and helping others were beyond amazing and my heart broke for the loss to the entire family. I feel blessed to have known and witnessed such an amazing woman! Our prayers are with the family.

I am so sorry about Linda. I always loved her so much. That loving, friendly smile is something I will always remember. Her unconditional love was a great gift of hers. I used to love going to the Berndson's and spending the night when I was young. I will miss her Christmas cards she would send. They were homemade and always so creative and it was fun to see what ideas she had come up with. I wish I had the patience to do such intricate work. We will miss her, but know she is in a beautiful place.

I can remember seeing Linda across a parking lot and knowing that smile belonged to only one person, my cousin. She always went out of her way to say Hi. She was truely as beautiful inside as she was outside. An angel on earth for sure. Always kind, always thoughtful. I will miss her. My thoughts and prayers go out to the family.

That beautiful smile--that is what always comes to mind when I think of Linda.
When I first became a teacher (oh-so-many years ago), I substituted in many schools. I remember the first day I accepted an assignment at McKinley Elementary. Linda was the first person I met when I checked-in at the front office. That beautiful, sincere smile let me know that I was welcome in that school. I know that she instilled that same feeling to every other teacher, parent, and of course, child. Through the years, I would stop by McKinley and Centennial to visit. Linda's was always the first face I would see upon entering that door, and I instantly felt happy. So many people have been touched by this beautiful lady, and they are the better for it.
I remember that Linda had a sign near her desk that said, "Winner's Circle". That pretty much says it all.
I wish peaceful thoughts and comfort to all who miss Linda so much.

I will fondly remember Linda. She and I began our friendship at McKinley Elementary, where I taught and she was the secretary. We both were pregnant with our first child at the same time, and shared many happy, joyful moments of fun and frivolity. Dean was in the reserves with my husband, Werner, so we shared that as well. Her memory will live forever in my heart. Hugs and prayers to all of you.

This world will forever be different without Linda here, but forever changed because she was here. I was so fortunate to be able to call her Aunt Linda through marriage. She was a true inspiration, friend, and someone who could bring out the sun on a cloudy day. Everything she did was through love and compassion. Her laugh was contagious and so was her passion of life. I love you so much, miss you just as much, and can't wait until the day when I get to see you again. Have a glass of merlot waiting! Love always, Cindy :)

I was blessed to know Linda thru my friendship and partial “adoption” thru the Mayo family.
Aunt Linda was such a delight to be around, she absolutely had a glow about her and when she laughed you wanted to find something else to make her laugh about so you could hear it again.
I am honored to be able to have called her Aunt Linda. I am happy for every moment I gave her a hug and told her that I loved her and I am so thankful that she always said…” I love you too honey:”.
I will miss her terribly!
Uncle Dean, Jason & Dina, Jeff & Steph I am so sorry for your loss! Scott’s and I are praying for you all.
With our deepest Sympathy and Love,
Scott and Faye Gatterman

One of the "sisters" day that Dean spoke about was at my stamping club in my home once a month. Linda was introduced to me by Priscilla when we started the club 5 1/2 years ago. Thank you Priscilla, for sharing your lovely sister with the rest of us and thank you for showing us what a beautiful sister/friend relationship you had. The closeness of the two of you and your wonderful interaction with each other blessed the rest of us so richly.
Linda was truly one of the kindest, sweetest ladies I have ever met and I will miss her more than I can ever express.

I have many warm memories of our years together in High School and growing up across the street from Dean, like when Dean and Linda first dated, when Linda and I were Homecoming King and Queen, all those growing up times, and our kids being the same age and involved in the same sports. It's hard to believe that our time is so short on this earth. Sandy and I want you to know you are in our prayers during this difficult time and that Linda is at peace in heaven.

The thing, to me, that stood out about Linda was her smile, it was a smile that lit up the room and that is what I will remember most about her. I never told her how great that smile was but wish I had. I met Linda through Dean, who I had the priviledge of working with for many years and it seemed to me that the two of them had something special. To Dean and your and Linda's remaining family, while no one can know the depth of the loss that you feel nor can anyone say or do anything to take away the pain you feel from that loss, perhaps just to know that many care will be of some small help. The health battle may have taken Linda but it cannot take the wonderful memories that she must have left for you, cherish them always.

Linda was a very special lady. The room was always full of joy and happiness when she walked in a room. I had the honor of knowing Linda through our Stampin' Up card club each month. We would always be laughing about something. I will truly miss her laugh, joyfulness, and kindness. What a good friend she was to all of us, and there is already a void in my life without her in it. I am privileged to have known her. I pray our Lord Jesus Christ will comfort you and your family at this time with His comfort and love. Know that Linda is in the presence of the Lord and is made perfect again, and we shall see her again someday. With much love and prayers,

Linda truly was a beautiful person. I was so fortunate to grow up with Linda on the Littlerock Road. There were a number of us, Penny Fox, Janet Ishihara, Lorna Wilson, Linda and myself who rode that bus every day from school. There is a special connection with the "kids" from Michael T and THS who shared years of being classmates.
A few years ago, Linda's mom moved into Merrill Gardens where my mom was living. Both her mom and mine were artists and shared that connection having had art lessons together in the past. My mom was thrilled to see someone from the old neighborhood join her at the Gardens. It was also wonderful that I was able to see Linda there when visiting my mom. She and I stood together one day looking at our moms and talking about the full circle of life.
Blessings are sent to you Dean and your family. I truly loved Linda and consider her to be a very special person in my life. I do believe in a "heaven" and I know she is there now.
With love,
Wendy
