Lisa was so special to everyone who had the pleasure to know her. I have so many fun memories of her, and am happy to know she is in Heaven playing with Miss Kitty and Grandma. Love you Lisa!

I used to work with Lisa at Morningside--its been about 5 years since I worked there but I remember Lisa with fond memories. She always had a smile and positive attitude--a joy to work with. Elton John was a frequent topic of conversation and I believe she even had a T-shirt with his name/and or picture on it. I also remember the birthday cakes some one from her family would bring in and how happy she was at that time to share with her friends at Morningside. Lisa always came to work well dressed and her hats were enjoyed by all as well as her holiday outfits. She always thanked people who complimented her. I could tell she came from a loving family and I know she returned that love. My condolences to all who loved her.

Having been able to know Lisa was one of God's true blessings to my life. From the moment Lisa joined the Grate family in 1969 she brought joy and happiness to us all. My three daughters grew up playing with Lisa and having her be a wonderful playmate. Lisa will be missed by all who got to know her but she was welcomed to Heaven by "Grandma Grate" and Jennifer.
May happy memories bring comfort to Karen and to all of us who are missing her.

I went to school with Lisa and helped out in the Willows program while she was there. I remember her as always being very friendly and happy and very fun to be around. I wish I would have kept in contact after high school, and I'm very sad to hear that she's gone. Best wishes to all of Lisa's family.

Lisa was so special to me and like my "little" big sister. I will always cherish the memories I have of her smile and enormous heart. I am sad because I will miss her positive attitude and lust for life, but I'm happy that she is where God wants her.
Karen & Dad, Love you. I know it will be big adjustment. Karen, you deserve a sainthood for all that you did for her. I know she is with the angels smiling down on you (and singing elton john!)
Hugs from us to you!

I feel very fortunate to have know such a beautiful person as Lisa. She would light up a room, always smiling and friendly and such a hard worker. She never gave up...And I will always cherrish the way she could saronate us with an Elton John song. She truly had an angel voice. She will be missed.
thoughts and prayers are with her sister Karen and family.

Some people come into our lives and quickly go.
Some people move our souls to dance.
They awaken us to new understanding with the passing of their wisdom.
Some people make the sky more beautiful to gaze upon.
They stay in our lives for a while, leave footprints on our hearts, and we are never, ever the same.

I am among those who were touched by LIsa's life. At the age of three she guided me as a 'wet-behind-the-ears' preschool teacher as we began the now 37-year old birth to six program for children with special needs in Olympia School District. Lisa and her friend David talk us so much about love, communication, and living life. I will always think of her as one of my best and most precious teachers. I know she will be missed by her family and friends but will remain in the hearts of each of us.

Lisa's love was unconditional. Her friendly smiles and warm greetings are precious memories that will last forever. Although we were unable to visit her as much as we would have like to, she was often in our thoughts and prayers. We are sure that Lisa has brought Elton John's music to heaven for all to enjoy. God Bless.
