I knew my Aunt Glady the best of all my aunts because she lived nearby. As a little girl, I remember her as warm and gracious and such a good hostess. She was in her element when she had family picnics in her beautiful backyard in Tenino - and she served mints and mixed nuts in pretty little candy dishes!! Over all her years at Sharon Care I was continually amazed at how alert, how aware, how knowledgeable, how talented, how articulate, and how wise she really was... After her 95th birthday, I asked her what the key was to her longevity, and she told me it was a little aspirin once in a while and eating grapefruit - - lots of grapefruit!!
I know one thing for sure, family and friends were very important to this woman and she treasured them dearly. Her 95th Birthday Party was a fitting tribute to this amazing woman...She had a glint in her eye and "cash" stashed in her bra for safekeeping, as she presided over the festivities - again, she was in her element. That is how I will fondly remember her.

I worked with Gladdy at the Thurston County Bank in Tenino and she trained me when I began work there. I was very young and she was very Motherly, with guidance and advise. I saw her just last year and she was still the same. She will be missed. My condolences to her family.

Gladys was an inspiration to us all. We visited with her as often as we could and enjoyed our talks. She will be missed but not forgotten. Being her brother made me very proud as she was always enthusiastic about the things we discussed. Memories of Gladys will always be with us.

To Glady's family & especially my dearest & long time friend, Tinky: I am so sad to know Glady is not with us but know she is now where there is no pain or sorrow & that's such a good thing for her. Her last days were not good & I angonized with all of you about her condition.
Her BIG birthday party was such a tribute to a lovely person with a strong heart & love for her dear family. Such a tribute & celebration of her life. We will all remember that day.
I will miss my "other" Mother. With love to you all, Shirley & Jack

Gladys was a lovely person who always had a smile. I would often see her at the Tenino Eagles and enjoyed talking to her. She will be missed but not forgotten.

I worked with Glady at the bank in Tenino 41 years ago, she was a very special person and always interested in my life. We adopted a baby girl while I worked there and she was so happy for my husband and me. We were all family when we worked together. She always kept a smile on her face and really enjoyed living. I will always remember Glady with fondness. She looked like she really enjoyed her birthday party.
