Obituary of David Andrew Stockert

David Andrew Stockert, 51, a resident of Olympia (Steamboat Island) for the last 12 years, died at Providence St. Peter Hospital in Olympia, Wash. on September 21, 2006. He was born September 4, 1955 in San Diego, Calif. to James and Sylvia (Daily) Stockert. He first attended Kearney High School then graduated from Midway High School in San Diego in 1973. David was an airbrush artist and created cartoons and murals. He loved his dogs, blues music, his land and his family. He was also an avid junk collector and enjoyed art. He is survived by his companion, Dawna Riley; her children Chantelle & Faith; son, Mason Andrew Riley; brothers, James A., Robert L., Joel P., Daniel R. and Andrew “T.P.” Stockert; sister, Margaret M. Stockert; numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a brother, Martin J.; step-father, Henry W. Cox; sister-in-law, Veronica Stockert and his parents and grandparents. Please join the family for a memorial service at 11:00 a.m., Friday, September 29, 2006 at the Masonic Center, 521 North St. SE, Tumwater, WA 98501. A potluck reception will follow at Rignall Hall on Steamboat Island Rd. by the Fire Dept., contact Bernice at 357-3582 for questions regarding the potluck.
