To Family and friends---
I am an old friend of Chris from back in Iowa City at law school ;planning a trip from Milwaukee to Seattle. I googled Chris and saw the death notice. Please accept this very late note of sympathy.
Chris and I were close all thru law school spending lots of time together and with our young families. He went to Germany and I went to Chicago after graduation. I last saw him in Seattle over 10 years ago.
Some of my memories of Chris are:
He loved staying home watching cartoons with his kids;
He was very smart in law school and always attended class, took great notes, got good grades(honors) but never studied until just before finals when he would "hole up"at home to study non-stop;
He liked adventure--going off to defend GIs in Germany,moving to Seattle from Tipton,etc;
He always made me feel like the best friend he ever had--not just me but everyone;
He may not have always followed the straight and narrow path of life but he truly was amazed at how life unfolded and how the law fit in with events in people's life;
When I didn't understand concepts he would explain them in simple terms with an imaginative flair, always;
He always talked positively about his Greek background ,Tipton ,his family furniture store and his parents and siblings;
His love for his kids was obvious and constant--they were the light of his life;
He liked the mellow life but found himself in the demanding world of law which pressured him, no doubt;
In sum, he was my best friend with his aura of warmth and mellowness, cleverness,love and humor---a man who loved life--maybe too much but well--
We all lost a lot in his passing--
respectfully--steve rynecki--milwaukee

I know no one will probably see this but the only one I care about seeing it is you Dad. My heart still aches for you even after these 4 long years. I watched our favorite movie the other day and remembered those many nights we would dance to our favorite song from it. Remember that? Reading all of these comments, I began to cry from everyone expressing how much they could tell you loved me, and Ricky and Grace and Mom. I miss you so much Daddy..I hope you and Jenny are having a wonderful time in heaven and I'll see you soon. I love you

Although I did not know Chris very well, I was impressed by his dedication to the Thurston County Juvenile and Family Court, his advocating for troubled youth, and his engaging personality. He never once passed me by without a sincere greeting and a beautiful smile. I am sorry I didn’t get to know him better.
Please accept my deepest sympathy for your loss and my wishes and prayers for your family.

Mr. Stamos represented my son Christopher Bingaman who is a Youth at Risk. We appreciated his kind, friendly, positive attitude. He seemed to be a friend the first time we met him. I can't imagine not seeing his smiling face at the family court. May God bless you and give you peace during this time.

I was so sorry to hear about Chris, my thoughts and prayers are with you and the children. I will miss seeing him when he picks the children up from school. He would always stop and say hi and would always have a smile on his face and we would chat about you and the children. I always enjoyed seeing the dog with him. He was a very caring person and I really enjoyed working with both of you at Juvenile Court. He did so many wonderful things for other perople but the most important people in his life were you and the children.

Our paths have crossed professionally only on occasion but your pressence, compassion, love for life and positive enegry seem so constant in my mind. Your smile and positive word would light up the hallways and courtrooms. I will always remember, no matter how busy you were, you would take time to ask me how the "little one was" even though you only met her once. Thanks for making the world a better place. You were greatly appreciated and will be missed dearly!

Diane, Sara, Ricky and Grace:
Your family has been one of my all time favorites at Pioneer Elementary. I've been lucky enough to have had all three of you kids come through my classroom. I always enjoyed your dad during conference week. Not only was it evident that your father loved and cared for you deeply, he made our meetings warm and comfortable and always ended by thanking me with a genuine sincerity. How fortunate I felt to have him as a parent in my class, and how fortunate for you to have had him as your father. His love and influence will live forever in you and your mother. Please know how much myself and others care about you, and I will hold you close in my thoughts and send you my love. Take care of each other, just as your dad would have liked. (Grace, I'll see you in the library next year!)

My thoughts and prayers are with the family, this is a terrible shock and loss. I worked with Chris in the Family and Juvenile Court numerous times, and always apreciated his kindness and compassion. It was a relief to see Chris' name listed as the attorney, because I knew I could trust him to do excellent work without hurting someone else in the process. He made the world a better place, and I have no doubt his children will go on to do the same. Bless you all.

Dear Diana, I am so very sad to learn of Chris's death. He lit up the court house when he came down the hall to consult with my son, David. As you know, David only wanted Chris next to him when his At-Risk youth matters were heard by Commissioner Schaller. My heart is so heavy with sympathy for you and your family. I know you will miss him with a loss larger than words can express and, for that, I wish I could somehow send something to ease your grief. Just know that I am thinking of you and your family, and I pray that God will give you some comfort.
Sincerely,

I've always thought how wonderful it was that every Friday afternoon Chris would tell me about the great weekend he was going to have with Diana and the kids. He would always end the conversation by looking at me with a smile and saying, "we have such a good time at our house." And even during a heavy dependency docket he would find time to tell me something he loved about Diana. What a remarkable man and father. On a personal note, it was simply a joy to have worked with him and to have known him. I'll miss him laughing and the way he could make everyone feel like it was a great day - no matter what was going on. I'm honored to have this chance to tell Diana and the kids what a great man I thought their father and husband was - just as I was honored to have known him. Debra

My thoughts are with you all during this difficult time. Chris had such a positive spirit! I can remember the many times he represented our youth and no matter how challenging or difficult the case was he always did so with integrity and genuine caring. His smile and the way he would make us laugh and feel at ease will greatly be missed. I feel blessed to have had the chance to know and work with Chris and see first hand the impact he had on the children in our community. Chris never judged the youth he served, he approached them with love and respect and always encouraged them to take the "high road". Chris's dedication to his work was clearly motivated by the love he had for his family, and for that you all should be proud that the love you shared greatly impacted other kids and familes in our community.

Chris was more than an attorney to me, much more than a nice guy who wouldn't take a dime to help me when I needed his legal advice, much more than a good guy who always seemed to slip into a conversation about how blessed he was, much more than a good father and husband who couldn't ever say enough about his wife and family, much more than a friend who was seated beside my wife and I at our wedding reception and didn't even mention to us it was also his birthday that day. He was a mentor, friend, husband, and father that I will try to emulate always. My wife and I love him and will miss him deeply. Our hearts and prayers are with you all-may you all find great joy in the wonderful memories you have.

It was just a couple weeks ago I was assisting Chris with a case he had on appeal and we were talking about his family. He was always so proud of his wife and children and talking about the fun summer ahead. My heart goes out to your entire family. It is never easy to have a loved one leave us, especially at such a young age. May it be of some comfort to you knowing Chris was always a kind, gentle person when working with myself and his clients. He will be greatly missed. Take care all of you and treasure those wonderful memories.
