Obituary of Phyllis Jean Sanders

Phyllis Jean Sanders, age 87, of Olympia, Washington, died on October 15, 2006, following her courageous battle with cancer. She was born August 5, 1919, in Buffalo, Kansas to the late Ralph and Ruby Bentley. She lived in New York, Montana, Florida, New Mexico and California while she collected lifelong friends, planted flowers and camped in RV style. She and her husband, Bill Sanders, moved to Scott Lake in 1980. After her husband’s death in 2003, she resided for two years at the Colonial Inn. Phyllis, called Tootie by her aunts, is loved and survived by her son, James Craig Sanders and her daughter, Sharon Kay Creeden; four grandchildren, Jerry, Heather and Coleen Creeden and Jamie Inforzato; seven great grand children, Amanda, Jamie, Nicholas and Skyler Sanders, Hannah Inforzato, and Jasmine and Julianne Creeden; one sister, Maxine Scott and two sister-in-laws, Ceil and Glorine Bentley. Her letters, cards and telephone calls will be missed by nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts and friends. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Bill Sanders; two brothers, Bill and Don Bentley and her granddaughter, Kimberly Sanders. Funeral Alternatives is in charge of arrangements for cremation and inurnment with her husband at Tahoma National Cemetery, Maple Valley, Washington. A private service will be held later. Memorial funds can be donated to a charity of choice. Phyllis’ friends and family are invited to a Remembrance Tea on Tuesday, October 24 at three pm at the Colonial Inn, 3730 14th Avenue SE, Olympia, 360-459-9110. Her family thanks all the staff at the Colonial Inn, caregivers from A&M Services and Assured Hospice.
