Obituary of Lorna B. Ray

No visitation Lorna (Heminger) Ray, 86, passed away on December 15, 2006. She was born June 24, 1920 in Caldwell, Kansas to Jasper Alfonze and Zinza Lorene (Holloway) Heminger. On September 17, 1938, in Shelton, she married Frank M. Ray. He preceded her in death in 1990. They were married for 52 years. Lorna lived in Shelton for 21 years and Olympia for 55 years. Lorna was a homemaker and worked as a care giver in a nursing home. She loved her children and grandchildren and enjoyed being with them. She also was a Mariner’s fan. Lorna is survived by three sons, Ron (Marta), Mike (Susie), and Lance (Julie); three grandchildren, Heather Kelley (Kamu Cheek), Jeniffer Talent and her husband Chris and Mathew (Sidney); one great granddaughter, Kaiya; one sister, Letha Pence, of Rochester. Lorna was preceded in death by a daughter, Linda Kathleen; sister, Verla Brownfield; two brothers, Jerry Heminger and Marty Doble. A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, December 21, 2006 at the Masonic Center, 521 North St. SE, Tumwater. A graveside service will follow at Odd Fellows Memorial Park, Tumwater.
