The funeral service for your mom was simply beautiful. She would be proud. I want to share a poem with you that helps me to keep how I live each day in check. xoxo
The Dash~
I read of a man who stood to speak at a funeral of a friend
He referred to the dates on her tombstone as
from beginning to the end
He noted that first came the date of her birth
and spoke of the following date with tears
But he said what mattered most of all
was the dash between those years.
For the dash represents all of the time
that she spent alive on earth
and now only those that love her
know what that little line is worth
For it matters not how much we own
the cars, the house, the cash
what matters is how we live and love and how we spend our dash
So think about it long and hard
are there things you'd like to change?
For you never know how much time is left
that can still be rearranged
If we could just slow down enough
to consider what's true and real
and always try to understand
the way other people feel
and be less quick to anger
and show appreciation more
and love the people in our lives
like we never loved before
If we treat each other with respect
and more often wear a smile
remembering that this little dash
will only last a while
So when your eugoly is being read
with your lifes actions to rehash
would you be proud of the things they say
about how you spent your dash?

So many memories. Her heart was huge, as well as her hugs. I'll miss her soft hands and warm smile. What a privilege to be part of her family. Ron, Mike and Lance, I love you guys and I'm thinking of you.

Lorna helped to take care of my grandma Bessie when she was at the end of her days and needed special care. Her and Frank took her into their home and cared for her like no facility ever could have. The warmth, caring, and compassion were what we all needed at the time. My thoughts are with the family at this difficult time.
