Your letter and Shirley's funeral program was just forwarded to me. I'm at my daughter's place in Colorado until Oct. Thank you so much for letting us know. I will pass the word along to the rest of your Aunt Myrtle's family, in case you haven't. Anita is in the NW and I don't know when/if she will return. Please keep in touch as all our family love you and yours and are concerned about you all.

My dear friend Roy, I am so sorry to hear of Shirley's passing. I will be eternally grateful I got the chance to meet her and have her be a part of my life. I know that Shirley is with our Heavenly Father and that He has circled her in His arms. That her memories of this lifetime are with her now and that she is smiling.
I don't know if I will be able to attend her service tomorrow, but my heart will be with you and your family.
I love you
Love, ReNae (you are still my favorite home teacher)

What a blessing it has been and is to us to know Shirley
and Roy Rasmussen, and to have as our son-in-law their
wonderful son, Mark. We know the Lord has called
Shirley home, and we shall always be thankful to her
for raising such a wonderful son.

Roy,
You are in our prayers and our hearts in the passing of your wife. She is a beautiful woman.
"No matter how long one is married, love finds a special place in one's heart". You shared this thought with us when you witnessed our marriage at the court house 9 years ago.
God Bless You.

Dear Roy
It's been six years since I've lived in Olympia and worked at the courthouse. Even though I only remember meeting Shirley once briefly, what I remember is your love and care for Shirley every day. Your commitment to her never wavered. I'm so sorry for your loss. I know you have a legacy of memories to bring you peace. Lovingly, Karen Avery (Court Reporter)

I hope Ken and I never forget the wonderful times we spent sitting on the retaining wall & talking about ever so many things. Good people we've known here in Olympia and in Eastern Oregon. We recall the time you & Shirley and Clair & Sharon Ferris helped us celebrate our wedding anniversay at the Olive Garden in Tacoma. You are truly a great friend, Roy. May our Heavenly Father's choicest blessing attend you and you wonderful family at this time.

Roy:
We're so glad that we had those years just down the street from you and Shirley. Even at the beginning of her health problems, she showed her sweet personality, and we are so thankful that we could add her, and you, to our widening circle of friends. Blessings to you and your family at this time of parting. The memories of all those good years and adventures together will never leave you.

Roy and family - your loved one is now at peace. She is with a loving God and you can also be at peace knowing that she will be waiting to reunite with you some day. I know that you all suffered for years as you watched Shirley fade away. Do not be sad...remember the good times and let the painful times slip away.
I am sorry that I am unable to be at the service for Shirley, but know that you are in my thoughts and prayers.
