Obituary of Donald Alan Prozora

Donald Alan Prozora was called home to be with our Savior Jesus Christ on March 4, 2008 at home after a brief and courageous battle with liver cancer.Don was born July 1, 1950 in Seattle, WA to William and Dorothee Prozora. He graduated from Lincoln High School in Seattle in 1969 and was drafted into the United States Navy. Don was honorably discharged for medical reasons before deployment to Vietnam. Don married the love of his life, Pirjo Tanhuanpää, in October of 1981. The couple moved to Olympia, where they made their home. Don was a hard worker, generous giver, avid dog lover, and a true friend. He was the house handyman, mechanic, and do-it-yourselfer. He was an outdoorsman and many summer vacations were spent camping at the ocean with his family. He also loved fishing, hiking and target shooting. He was a true boy scout, always prepared! Don also loved the Lord with all his heart, and spent hours reading the Bible each morning before work. Don is survived by his mother, his sister Merrily, brother William, his wife, and his daughter Anya. He was preceded in death by his brother Robert, his father, and his son Geoffrey. A celebration of life given in Don’s honor will be held on March 15 at 1 PM at Emmanuel Bible Fellowship, 2508 State Ave. NE Olympia. In lieu of flowers, any memorial contributions may be made in Don’s name to Emmanuel Bible Fellowship c/o Missions, to further God’s kingdom.
