Like Linda (McGuire) Forrester, I was Mr. Pill's student at what we called "Tumwater Grade School." He was a wonderful man and loved his students. I remember his reading Hemmingway's "Old Man and the Sea." He allowed us to listen the World Series and celebrate the young Mickey Mantle. God be with you, Mrs. Pill, and your family as you remember this wonderful life.

We are so sorry to hear about Jim. We were out of town and just got back on Sunday morning
I worked with Jim at Tumwater Schools for 10 years and saw him a number of times after that. We, as you, are shocked when this happens to close associates.

Dear Mrs. Pill,
I am sorry for your loss of a very special man. Mr. Pill was my teacher, then my principle at Micheal T. Simmons. That was in 1951 to 1955 when I graduated from 8th grade.
He had a great impact on all of us in that class and I'm sure on every class he was associated with. He was very funny, and lead with kindness and caring. I'm sorry he's gone.
Sincerely,
Linda

Mr. Pill was my principal at Peter G. Schmidt many years ago and I was thrilled to reconnect with him when we moved to Olympia and became a neighbor. My wife and I are both very sad to hear that he is now gone from us. But the wonderful memories that I have of him are still vivid. We will remember his family in our prayers.

Jim and I worked on association business together for over 5 years. As you can imagine I was very saddened to read of Jim's death in today's paper.
My prayers are with you Edith, and your entire family.

We are so very sorry to hear of Jim's death. What a wonderful person. We so appreciate all he did for us and all of our neighbors as Treasurer of the Nottingham Association all these years. It was a pleasure serving with him on the Board and knowing he was here watching out for our finances. Thank you for sharing him with us.
Your friends and neighbors
John and Joan Neff
