Sorry to hear about Dennis...he was a fun guy to work with at DOT & made some darn strong coffee! Was he sick or was there some kind of accident? I saw his name when I was looking for a different friends obituary...knowing it couldn't have been the Dennis that I worked with at DOT...unfortunately it is...
I forwarded this to my mom as I'm not sure if she knows since she's been in California since the beginning of January.

Dennis will be missed at our family gatherings, my Pinochle buddy. He also spent many summer vacations with Robert helping him with plumbing & ice. Robert felt that Dennis was more like his brother. I have many birdhouses that Dennis made for my yard that will always remind me of him.

I met Dennis as he worked with my wife,Ida Walker at WSDOT.From the moment he and I were introduced,he made me feel so very comfortable being around him as if we had known each other for years. He always made me feel as if we had been best friends for years.Tears came to my eyes, and a dark cloud entered my heart when I heard of his passing. An emptiness is in my soul that I feel will never go away.I've even wished it could have been me instead of him.He still had so very much to offer the world. His smile, personality, and sense of humor will be deeply missed always and forever.

Words can't say what my husband, friend and soul mate meant to me. My heart is aching and will miss him always. I take comfort in knowing that he will always be with me. They say that there is one perfect person for everyone out there somewhere and he was mine. We had 20 wonderful years together and I will treasure every moment. He was and is my one true love.

We knew Dennis during our time at Evergreen Christian Center. Our sons were friends and spent time together both in and out of the church. We remember Dennis as a kind, generous man and a wonderful patient father. Although we lost touch with him over the years, we will always remember his laughter, his easygoing personality and the hours we spent playing cards while our sons “energetically” played around us. His family is in our hearts and prayers during this difficult time.

Hi Diane,
I'm so sorry to hear of Dennis' passing. That is so sad. I know when I saw you at the craft bazaar I knew he wasn't doing well. I always liked Dennis, he always had a smile on his face and something nice to say. I'm sure you and the rest of his family will really miss him.
Please know that you are in my thought and prayers. Remember that you will always have memories of him in your heart. It is always so hard.
Take care,
Missy Gordon

I work with Diane and she'd mention the nice things Dennis did for her like sending her flowers or surprising her with a gift. Then I got to witness just what a sweetie he was. He'd stop by the office occasionally and surprise Diane with a coffee, bring her lunch or just stop in for a quick break at work with her. Dennis always came in with a big infectious smile!

There are those people who inexplicably touch your lives as you go through your day, and change who you are and how you are with others. Dennis was one of these people for me. Dennis always had a smile and a kind word and loved teasing and giving me a hard time all in fun. He was one of my favorite patients and I will miss him terribly. My thoughts and prayers are with his family during this difficult time.

i was a casual friend of Denny's. I grew up on Lilly road, and Denny was only one block away, on Stoll road. I used to deliver newspapers to his house. I also went to NTHS with him. I only saw him a few times after high school, but he was always friendly and I was always happy to see him. Always sad when someone from my past friends passes.

I was lucky enough to meet Dennis a few years ago and was always impressed with his open and caring attitude to all. He was a wealth of information for a purchaser just starting out and he made my job so much easier then it could have been. He was sorely missed when he retired and more so now. I will keep his memory in my thoughts and heart and will always be glad I knew him. I am so sorry for your loss.

Dennis was the best father in-law I could of asked for. I loved hanging out with him and Diane and watching him play with our kids. I have such wonderful memories and I will hold them close to my heart. He has inspired me with traditions to carry on in our own home like putting peanut butter on pancakes. Our kids will miss their "Papa" dearly as Eli and I will. Bubba and Spudlet say they will see Papa in heaven one day. His unconditional love for all his family and friends will be missed and I hope we can carry that on in our own lives. Love you Dad.

Diane and family...I am so sorry to hear of Dennis passing. I don't even know what to say. I have known Dennis for so many years and Diane you are like my sister. I know that Dennis will live on in so many hearts. He touch so many lives and made so many people smile. I will never forget him. The only comfort that I can give you and your family is that we will all carry a piece of Dennis in our hearts and with gods blessing we will see him again. The one phrase that Dennis said was "Centers" with that little hand action....that will be with me always and when I think of it I smile and remember his smile and laugh. My prayers are with you.
