Dear Terese,
I wanted to thank you for so kindly returning my call after I left a
message at the funeral sevice. You obviously have your mother's
thoughtfulness, graciousness, and generosity of spirit. I was sorry I
couldn't make it to the church service, so I was grateful for the chance to speak to you directly.
It was my honor and my joy to know your mother - I don't have to tell you what a special person she was! I loved her plain-spoken candor, wisdom and humor. I so admired her courage and hard-working commitment to her family and community. She was a rare and precious gem, a powerhouse in a tiny package.
What a harsh season of grief you have entered with both her loss and the untimely and very sad loss of your son. My heart goes out to you and all your family. Losing a mother is hard enough, but to lose a young person - staggering! I hope that as you live through this harsh period of mourning you can draw upon that powerful example of faith and strength and courage that so defined your mother's life. You are a part of her, and she is a part of you. She loved you so much. I like what author Gerald Jamplosky wrote: "God created me as love, and love knows no boundaries and never dies." Because of my own near-death experience as a child, I can concur with Schopenhauer: "I believe that when death closes our eyes, we shall awaken to a light of which our sunlight is but the shadow."
With deepest sympathy to all in your family at your double loss, Peace and strength and comfort, warmly, Bev Jackson

I had the pleasure of working with Iris a number of years ago at the State Auditor's Office. She had a wonderful sense of humor and always made me smile. God Bless you in your time of loss.

A wonderful longtime friend who will be missed by both of us. Our special thoughts go out to her family. We also knew her one brother Greg who served with Hal during their time spent at Sand Point Naval Air Station in Seattle.
Our thoughts and prayers ae with you during this time.
