EULOGY FOR JIM
On behalf of our entire family, we would like to thank everyone for all the support you have given us through this time of sorrow. We never really knew what an impression Jim made on the people he met. We look at all of you here now, and realize how many lives he touched in his short life.
My brother Jim, Stood strong for America, was a very quiet and private person, and also a man who loved to live life. We are here today not only to say goodbye, but to celebrate his life.
Jim was born here in Olympia on June 13, 1962. He graduated from Olympia High School and went on to attend Bates College where he got his certificates in Computer Science and truck driving.
Jim’s greatest passion was NASCAR, specifically Mark Martin, the #6 car. He collected anything and everything that had to do with his favorite driver. We all would try to find him something he didn't have . He even worked at South Sound Speedway as the start and finish flagger because he loved racing so much. He had recently purchased a brick that would be a part of the NASCAR Hall of Fame in North Carolina with Mark Martin and Jim’s name on it, so he could be a part of it.
He also loved to fish. He would get up early in the morning to go to his favorite fishing spots, either by himself or with friends. We all got to enjoy his catches .
Jim had so many talents, it is hard to count them all. He was an excellent carpenter. Whether he helped build a horse barn or a fire wood box ,or an addition to the house it will always be standing for many years to come .He once built a shop bench for me to put my Harley motor on. When we were done building this bench he told me it would take a semi-truck to pull it off the wall. You have to believe me when I tell you, I could not get that bench off of the wall! He loved to build flower boxes for my mother now she will always have something to enjoy and remember Jim by.
Jim was a skilled dart player. He belonged to the Medalist and NDA dart leagues for many, many years.
Most of all, he loved his daughter, Felicia. I know this for a fact, because I would always see him at her baseball games when I was the umpire at her games. He loved to fly kites with her and take her fishing. He would spend every chance he got with her.
In closing, I would like to say that my mother dearly loved her son, and his brothers and sister loved him as well and we will all greatly miss him.
Farewell my brother…until we meet again. We love you.
The Nerney Family truly Thanks each & everyone of you for your support during this time.

You are all in my thoughts and have my deepest sympathies for your loss. Even though I hadn't seen Jim in a number of years, I always kept up with him through brother Bob. Jim was a good friend growing up through the South Bay years and after. He loved the cook's bread and butter sanwiches and we always competed on who could get the most on a given day and eat all of them. Jim will be missed by all.
