Obituary of James M. Nerney

9:00 a.m. Tuesday Sept. 14, 2004 Sacred Heart Catholic Church James "Jim" M. Nerney, 42, a long time resident of Olympia, passed away due to a massive heart attack at home on September 5, 2004. He was born on June 13, 1962. Jim was a beloved son, brother, father, and friend to all.He is survived by his mother, Loretta Jean, of Olympia; father, Robert, of Port Orchard; three brothers, Bob (Jennifer), of Olympia, Larry (Monica), of Shelton, and Pat (Darla), of Olympia; sister, Lorrie, of Olympia; a daughter, Felicia, of Olympia; and several nieces, nephews, uncles, aunts, and friends. His favorite pastime was car racing. Jim was a Mark Martin (Car #6) fan. He also loved playing darts, and was on the Medalist N.D.A. Dart League. Jim loved the outdoors, going to the beach to fly his kites, and going fishing. Jim worked for South Sound Speedway, Pacific Alaska Forwarders, Miller Brewing Company, The Cheese Factory, and Loretta's Café. Jim was loved by so many, and will be missed very much, but it is very comforting to know that he has gone to NASCAR heaven. There will be a service for Jim at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 812 Bowker St. SE, Lacey, Washington, on Tuesday, September 14, 2004 at 10:00 a.m. Those who wish may pay their respects beginning at 9:00 a.m. morning of the service.
