I was but one of the many thousands of children who were watched over by Mr. Moss as he transported us to school in the late 50s and early 60s. He insisted on being addressed as "Moss," not "Mr. Moss," and I once told him I couldn't do that because my mama didn't raise me that way. He smiled at that and said he'd prefer leaving the "Mr." off as that was how he was addressed while in the service. Of course, many children thought they were getting away with something by not saying "Mr. Moss," but my guess is his choice encouraged more kids to speak with him than otherwise would have, as just about everyone said "Hi, Moss!" as they boarded the bus. Happy to share this memory of a kind and responsible man.

I was so sorry to hear the news of J.B.'s passing. I had not seen him in so many years, but I have a lot of good memories of Inez and her visitis to Georgia and how lovingly she always spoke of her family. My thoughts and prayers are with you.
