Edgar (Ed) Mehan, 80, a 27 year resident of Lacey, died November 4, 2006. He was born May 1, 1926 to Joseph and Stella May (Henry) Mehan in Tacoma. On June 24, 1969, Ed married Judith M. Johnson, who survives. He enlisted in the United States Navy in 1942 at the age of 16. He served in World War II, Korea, and Vietnam. After serving 22 years, Ed retired in February 1966. From October 1979 to 1991, he was a jailer for the City of Olympia. Among the many things Ed liked to do, he enjoyed cooking, reading, movies, and watching football. He held membership in the Veterans of Foreign Wars and the Elks Lodge.
Including his wife Judy, Ed is survived by five sons, Joseph, Kevin, Matthew, Martin, and Patrick; seven daughters, Julie, Dolores, KrisAnne, Elizabeth, Leigh Ann, Michelle, and Heather; also sixteen grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and his daughter, Janice.
