I am sorry to hear of Ed's passing. It seems only yesterday that we spoke for an hour or so about our duty aboard the hospital ship USS CONSOLATION in support of the Korean War. My condolences.

I'm a second cousin of Ed's. Our grandmothers were sisters (Jennie Coolidge Mehan and Adelaide Coolidge Felt). Ed and I made contact in the course of my research on the Coolidge family.
My sincere condolences to the family. Ed and I enjoyed a number of great phone calls although we never met face to face. We usually talked about Coolidge-Mehan family history but often just chatted about our lives, politics, etc. As my last name is
Felt, Ed called me as soon as he heard about the outing of "Deep Throat", Mark Felt, the senior FBI official who provided valuable information on Watergate back in the Nixon administration. It just so happened that I had researched Mark Felt's genealogy. learned we were distant cousins, and had contacted Mark Felt's family to provide family history information. Ed and I had a good phone conversation talking about the Watergate controversy. He had some strong opinions about political events of that period.
I always enjoyed our phone conversations. We talked several times about getting together face-to-face but the miles across the entire country from Washington state to Virginia were just too great. I'm very sorry I never met him in person.
Again, my sincere condolences to Ed's widow, children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
If any of you are interested in this family history, please contact me.
Regards, Jack Felt
