Obituary of Irene Kinuye Masumoto

Irene Kinuye Masumoto, a 30 year resident of Olympia, passed away on July 29, 2006. She was born on June 18, 1945 in Lethbridge, Alberta and moved to Washington when she married her husband of nearly 40 years, Ted Masumoto. Working with children was Irene’s passion. As the mother of three, she would not miss an opportunity to support the kids at soccer games, tennis matches, swim meets, piano recitals, etc. Her experience as a loving mother carried over to her work as a technology coordinator with the Olympia School District. She loved sharing her knowledge with both children and adults. Irene was always willing to lend a helping hand, day or night. Irene is survived by her mother Betty Morita, husband Ted Masumoto, brothers Lloyd and John Morita, children Jeannine Conway, Todd and Teresa Masumoto, and a grandchild-to-be (due in two months). Please join family and friends for a memorial service on August 12th, 1:00pm at Leland P. Brown Elementary School, 2000 26th Ave NW, Olympia, WA 98502.
