Aunt Roberta Wolfe posted a condolence

One great thing I remember about Georgie is when he was born his Mother (Nancy) called home (Longview) and said "Roberta, come on the train please and see my beautiful boy and help me take care of him, and I miss you too!" I was only 11 but Mom and Dad said it was okay. George hated me to call him Georgie, one day he leaned over and whispered in my ear "Aunt Birdie" I am 50 years old, please don't call me Georgie at least in front of people we don't know and my kids. I loved him a lot, if I wasn't so ill, I would have been at the funeral. I miss all of you and wish I could see you all again.

I think that the service went very well, with Pastor Strand providing a comforting sermon. I'm sure George would have approved. I know that he was grateful to have you for the last few years of his life. Hope that "The Best Christmas Pageant Ever" was a good conclusion to the day. Love, M

I remember my funny, crazy, "gift to gab" (just like me, Aunt Nancy & Bob Bob) cousin Georgie he was always jokin' around with me, (I was 11 years younger than him, I think he was picking on me, too, in a nice way)! I remember buying my first set of wheel (cragers) & tires from him (posetration). I remember whenever my high school boyfriend needed new tires, he went to Georgie to get them (which was quit a bit, because he was always showing off, by spinning out)! Darlene, I love ya girl, keep in touch call me anytime, Eric (my daughter's Fife pool swimming instructor) and Shawn (the salesman) just like his dad (last time I saw you was at the fair). Our thoughts & prayers go to you & your family.
Love ya,
Mike, Cathy, Anna & Mikey :)

Although I never met George, I have known Darleen for several years. I remember how her eyes lit up when she told me about getting back together with George a few years ago. She was so blessed with being able to have those last years together and to give him so many hugs and laughs for that short second time around. And I'm sure he considered it a blessing himself to enjoy her warmth and companionship. My deepest regrets to the family. He was so very young.

It has been a long time since we have seen or spoken to one another, but the good times from my childhood will never be forgotten. I remember babysitting for George Jr. and Bobby and how George did his best to get Bobby into trouble. It seems like a year or two difference in age (at that time) was a big deal, but now it seems more like a blink of an eye. I haven't been back to Bremerton for some time, but I do remember the gas station, neighbors, times shared. Bobby, you were so small that I doubt you remember me. I was your neighbor when you lived in your Grandpartent's house on Preble St. My best to you and your family.
