Dear Bruce, I just got word of your great loss, and am broken by the news. Carol was a beautiful person, so kind and giving; and you know that she will live on in every life she touched. You were a wonderful couple - so happy together! My sincere sympathy goes out to you and Seth and Adam during this heart-wrenching time in your lives. You and the boys will be in my heart and my prayers will be for you to have strength for this hard journey and for comfort to ease your pain. May God overshadow you with His love and presence, and help you find His abundant peace. Best Always, Susie

I keep thinking back to the time Carol arrived in Charlevoix by train by herself. Would want to do that in this day. She was to stay with her grandparents for the summer and we had all gone to meet her at the depot. There she was only 5 years old or so all dressed up. We had so much fun together. I also think about how we would pick flowers some wild and some from Aunt Nellie's garden and send her to the door of the rich peoples houses to sell them and then take the money from her and devide it up later only giving her a small portion because the money was to go to Joyce so we could go to the movies. Carol was too little to go with us. I will miss my long conversations with her on the phone. We all loved her so much. Goodby dear cousin. Love Alice

Adam, you went to college in Wyoming with my son, Kevin. Your Mom was instrumental in his attendance there - I will always be grateful to her for that. I enjoyed the times we spent in the staff room at the District Office "bragging" about our boys - she was so proud of you! I miss seeing her sweet face and my heart aches for all of you to lose someone so special. I hope it brings you and your family some comfort to know how much she meant to so many people.

Dear Bruce, Seth and Adam, I worked with Carol at the Tumwater School District Office for 10 years. She was always a joy to work with--even at times of heavy stress, she maintained a smile and a "how can I help you" attitude. She was great fun to be with at non-work times--One of my fondest memories of Carol is of the day that Celia, Anita, Carol and I spent the better part of a Sunday in the TSD Board room playing with our fabrics and sewing machines! I've always regretted that we didn't find the time to do it more often. I will miss her greatly! My thoughts and prayers are with you all! Seth and Adam, I know from experience how hard it is to lose one's Mother--but she lives forever in memories and her love and teachings with always be with you! May God bless you and help you through this difficult time.
