Wendy, Dan and Brandon....I'm so sorry this is delayed, I only heard of your loss last night........shock and sadness have settled over me.... I know a couple of months may have gone by, but I couldn't pretend and go on as if this was just another day. I am profoundly moved by your interviews. You are strong and brave to be able to speak so eloquently on such a tough subject. There are no words that will be able to express my condolences except to say how deeply deeply saddened I am that you all have to go thru such a tragic loss. I spent the day trying to understand and came up empty. I also would have attended the celebration on March 10th if I had known about it earlier and been proud to have celebrated such a beautiful life with you. Now I'm left with a message that will probably not be able to express my sincere heartfelt thoughts well enough, but at the very least I have this opportunity to let you know that I am thinking of you and praying. Always...Donna

Dan, Wendy, and Brandon,
Heather is such a beautiful girl inside and out and you should be so proud of the wonderful job you have done with both your kids. I have so many great memories of babysitting Heather and watching her grow up. One of my favorite memories was putting the hose on the slide in your backyard to make a "waterslide," Heather just loved it and dancing to music outside during the summer, just being silly girls. You were like a second family to me growing up and I love you all very much. You are in my thoughts and prayers.

Dear Dan, Wendy and Brandon,
Heather's early departure is hard to bear, but knowing that she is surrounded by God's Love makes it easier to bear. I still treasure the early days of her life when I watched her. I remember her first big "belly laugh". She was probably about 4 months old. I was holding her and looking at out the screen door. Our little dog Sam wanted to come in and was jumping up at the door. Heather thought this was so funny. I left the poor dog out just so Heather and I could laugh and laugh. You and Dan did such a beautiful job raising your children. Heather blessed everyone's life that she met. I love you all and may God's love comfort you. Heather is dancing with the Angels.
Love, Nancy and Tom Schlottmann

Heather would make you smile with her laughter. She was senstive and caring, even though she could also look at you in
such a way that would make you uncomfortable.
I remembered one particular time when we were kayaking, Brandon was running along side of us on the shore frightened for
Heather in the kayak. I asked him why and he replied" Heather
said that there were sharks in the water." So much like Heather
to keep Brandon on his toes.
We will all miss her but, we all have so many fond memories that
will warm our hearts when we think of her.

Dear Wendy:
I’ve known Heather since before she was born. I first met her in your eyes as we sat around my dining room table and you spoke excitedly about the possibility of starting a new Family. I was then blessed to know her in a hundred joyful hugs while she grew in your belly, and I think the nurses referred to me as your “bossy Friend”, on the day Heather was born. I’m sorry about that, I just Love you guys and wished you the best of care. I was reminded last weekend while visiting with Brandon what great parents you and Dan are and right now I pray for comfort, strength and understanding for your Family at this difficult time. Thank you for the fact that I’ve known Heather and Brandon in new photographs on my refrigerator every year, for all of their Lives; of which Heather’s was shorter than many, but it was richer and fuller with beauty and experiences than most senior citizens I know. She was blessed and her Life blessed mine.

Dear Lerch Family, I was overcome with sadness today when I saw Heathers obituary in the paper. My co-worker had told me that she just read one of the most beautiful obituaries she had ever read; when I looked at whom she was speaking about gasped and immediatly started crying. I worked with Heather at Subway winter 07-08. She was such a beautiful girl inside and out. Her smile was infectious. I remember the day she came to work and she had her new blue (dodge neon?), she was so excited to have that car. Up until today, whenever I would pass a car like hers I would always try to look and see if it was her. Now, whenever I see a car like hers I will always remember the short time that I was able to share with her and what a wonderful person she was. My condolences go out to your family. She will be loved for always and missed by many.

I coached Heather a few years. One year when we had to call the ambulance and I was totally freaked out because I had only been a coach for like 2 weeks. I think she was calmer than I was. Also, when she played her Senior year. I was so impressed she came out for soccer one last time even though she was stuck with me as her coach. Heather knew much more about soccer than I did. I am sure that Heather is scoring goal after goal after goal in a much better place. It was an honor to be her coach, thank you for sharing her with me :)
