Obituary of Dabney C. Leatherman

Dabney C. “Debbie” Leatherman , 65, passed away at home in Bucooda, WA on April 16. 2009. She was born to Glenn and Ethel Trueblood on March 29, 1944 in San Diego, CA. Debbie grew up in Southern California and graduated from Santa Ana High School with the class of 1962. In 1963 Debbie was married to Gary Leatherman in Las Vegas, NV. She spent 30 years working as a Certified Nursing Assistant in the medical field Debbie was employed over the years at Capitol Arms in Tumwater, private homecare, and the Korean Women’s Association. When she wasn’t hard at work, she enjoyed paintings, motorcycles, scrapbooking, swap meets, cooking, yard sales, loved the Ocean, spending time with family and friends, and she especially loved to ride with her husband. Debbie was also active in her community, where she taught Sunday School at Bucoda Assembly Church and was also an active member of the Swantowne Pirates – an organization to help under privileged children. Debbie is survived by her husband, Gary; sons, Robert, Joseph, and Jeremy; daughter Shelly Leatherman; 10 grandchildren; brother Jeff Trueblood; and sister Mary Dalzin. She was preceded in death by her parents; son Danny Leatherman; and brother Dave Trueblood. Family is planning a service beginning at 2:00 PM on Saturday, April 25, 2009 at the Bucoda Church.
