To Alison's family: You were so blessed to have had such a special person in your lives named Alison. What an encourager! What a talent! What a breath of fresh life! I can't tell you how many times I've gone to the phone to talk with her and realize I can't. I could share anything with her and I would be understood. I could cry with her and knew she cared. I could pray with her and knew that heaven heard. I miss her. I love her. I look forward to seeing her again--in Heaven--and I know we'll be able to continue our walks, our talks, our laughter, and at least we won't get out of breath when we walk uphill!!! May the Lord of Peace fill you with that powerful stillness and comfort that only He can give. May your memories of her strengthen your determination to be like her. In my prayers, with love.

I met Alison several months ago. She was a customer in my pre-owned Christian Book store. She was a delight to know. She spoke highly of her family, God, and the battle she had against breast cancer. She fought the good fight of faith. I admired Alison the minute I met her. Her presence will be missed... our loss and Heaven's gain.

Dear Melinda,
What a journey you and Tom shared. It was an enriching experience for me to share the medical path you took as a couple through your e-mails. I grieve your loss. When my mother died, I found this message in the box where she kept her special things:
Death is not extinguishing the light
It is putting out the lamp because the dawn has come.

When I think of Alison, I think of joy. Her quick smile, easy laugh and concern for others made everyone feel loved. I treasure the times we were able to meet over the past 10 years, and especially our last visit. Alison, you are loved and you are missed.

It was a joy to have known Alison, although only for a few months. My husband and I were privileged to have met her. She was a part of our Monday night home Bible study, and we looked forward to seeing her each week. She was an encouragement to everyone in our group and was a wonderful testimony to God's amazing grace. Our prayers are with her family, for peace and comfort.
