Obituary of James Kernodle

James Allen Kernodle James Kernodle, also known as Jimmy or Jimmy Pick to his family and Jimbo to his friends, passed away on January 12, 2009 in an automobile accident. Jim was born in Stuttgart, Germany on April 1, 1953. He was adopted by his parents Jack and Sylvia Kernodle. He is survived by four siblings; Andy Kernodle, Velma Boyd, Carol Smith, and Janice Sharp. Jim also had two children, Jack and Amanda Kernodle. Preceded in death was his father Jack Kernodle and his step-father Sherman Frase. Jim loved life. He loved to travel, especially to Montana. He would regularly fish, hunt, and dig clams with his buddies. He was a devoted friend. You could count on him. Our brother and son had a heart of gold. He would do anything for anyone. If his mom called for help, he was either calling her or was there Johnny-on-the-spot. Jim loved animals. At one time he raised cows on his mini-farm in Tenino. When he moved, he got himself a chocolate lab named Taz. Taz and Jim were inseparable. Where one went, the other followed. Taz has a new home with Jim’s best friend Bill. Jim couldn’t hear worth a lick. Trying to have a normal conversation with him was sometimes trying. He would always start out his conversation with a yell – Sis! Bro! Mom! However, that is one of the endearing things we will remember about our family member. We thank all of you who touched Jim’s life. He was a better person because of you. We love you Jim. One day soon, you will be clamming or fishing once again. Love always, Your Family Please leave your memories and condolences by clicking on "View Guestbook" below.
