Obituary of Larry Lee House

No visitation Larry Lee House, 64, a lifetime resident of Olympia, died December 26, 2006 at home with family following a courageous fight against cancer. He was born February 18, 1942 to Walter W. and Faye M. (Rowe) House. He graduated from Olympia High School in 1960 and attended Tacoma Vocational Technical Institute. He was a Bridge Engineer/Lead Structural Detailer with the Washington State Department of Transportation from 1979 to 2003. Prior to that he worked for Arvid Grant and Associates as well as Ralph's Thriftway. Larry's hobbies and interests included professional model building; woodworking, restoration of wooden boats, classic cars, and motorcycles; as well as fishing, rod runs, and playing cards. He belonged to the Olympia Street Rod Association (in line 6-ers). He is survived by his son, Ted and daughter-in-law Gretchen, of Monroe, and their children, Camille and Cole; his daughter, Carolyn House-Higgins and son-in-law, Andrew, of Olympia, and their daughter, Sophia; one brother, Ken House, of Stanwood; one sister, Linda Weaver, of Troy, Michigan. Larry's family would like to give special recognition and thanks to Jack and Deanne McGill, Linda and Don Ellis, and Elaine Fischer House for their tireless support, selfless giving, and unconditional love. A memorial service will be held at 3:00 p.m., on January 6, 2007, Expo Building, Thurston County Fairgrounds. Bring your street rods.
