Obituary of David F. Grant

David F. Grant Dave was born July 13, 1946 in Pontiac, Michigan to David and Doris Grant. After a long and courageous battle with cancer he passed away on January 16, 2006 at St. Peter Hospital in Olympia, Washington. Dave graduated from Sammamish High School, Seattle University and the University of Puget Sound. Dave worked as a lobbyist and was always active in state Politics. He retired from the Department of Revenue in 2005. Football season you could find Dave as a member of the Tyee Club tailgating and cheering the University of Washington Huskies with friends and family. Golfing was another of Dave’s passions. He belonged to Tacoma Country & Golf Club and thoroughly looked forward to his days golfing with his many friends. He was said to have a “great swing”, and was thrilled to have achieved “three” holes-in-one! He really looked great in his golfing knickers too! He truly enjoyed his life and family, he will be greatly missed. Dave is survived by his wife, Karen; sons Ken (Lorri) Tradewell, David (Carrie) Tradewell; daughters, Sandy (Dan) Vatne, Kristi (Brad) Skavlem; grandchildren, Samantha, Matthew, Jake, Kaily, Conor and Madison; sister, Darlene Baker and the Durkan family. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, January 21, 2006, 4:00 p.m. at Transformation Life Center, 1717 Eskridge Blvd. S.E., Olympia, WA 98501 with Pastor Tom Decker, Officiating.
