It’s always tough around the holidays with you gone and now mom being gone as well. You both made the holiday’s special. I remember Christmas was always video taped and there would be so many presents. To this day I still make lasagna for Christmas dinner I will always carry that family tradition. Watching Christmas Vacation and A Christmas story we would all be laughing so hard. Most of all I miss my family you two were my rock, always helped and guided me most of all you loved my sons unconditionally . I know you are up there watching down on me having morning coffee. So many beautiful memories over the years I could go on and on. I love and miss you so much Amy(daughter) Merry Christmas

Ken was the only father that I had in my life. He was a mentor to me, and everyone around him. I will never forget the way he treated me like I was his own, he was very caring and compassionte just like a father should. Even though it's almost been three years the pain is still set deep. I miss you with all my heart and wish you were here. Love Amy (daughter)

We will really miss Ken and our fun breakfasts at the casino. It was so great knowing him and how kind and generous he truly was. Our grandchildren thought he was lots of fun playing games and I'm sure they won't forget him. We all enjoyed those good times and just visiting over coffee. We will remember Ken for a long time to come.

Barb, Brian and Abby: Ken was a wonderful guy. He had a huge heart, which he lent to anyone who neededit. He was the first to volunteer to help others, and he brought a first class sense of fun to everything he did. I've known Ken (and Barb) since I first moved to Olympia. And I don't know two finer people. They have been my colleagues, and are still my friends. Last summer I spent a lovely afternoon in your kitchen, Barb, munching on the best cookies I've ever eaten! And Ken enjoyed our reminiscing, even when it became mostly "girl talk".
I know you are going to miss Ken, as I will, but I hope you are comforted by knowing all the people whose lives he touched, and how we all loved him.

Dear Barb, I was so sad to read of Ken's passing. I am so sorry we did not get together, or that I did not stop in once in a while over the years. He was always so friendly and kind. My thoughts and prayers are with you and I will stop and see you soon. Love,Kathy

Dear Brian, We send our love, thoughts and prayers for you in this sudden loss of your Dad. Even though we never had the privilege of meeting him, Laurie would often share stories of hours spent with your folks. She absolutely loved his kind heart, great sense humor and his friendship so much. Please know that we will always be here for you Brian. Rich & Jan

Dear Brian, I am so very sorry to hear about the unexpected loss of your father. At this time there really isn't anything that anyone can say that will ease your pain. All I can provide is the knowledge that the people who knew your father (and I did not) and those that know you, feel your pain. Time will heal this wound my friend. In the mean time celebrate your fathers life with you and try to focus on the great times you and your family shared with your father. I am here for you son and if you would like to talk please email me at jlc4glf@comcast.net. May God ease your pain and your family and friends bring you peace. Sincerely,
John Christiansen

Barb, we are so sorry to hear about our friend Ken. Our hearts and thoughts are with you and your family.
Ken was always such a kind and sharing person. He made a point to keep a close eye on Wayne's mom and stepdad (Leona and Chuck Mitchell) when they lived in your neighborhood. They often commented about how thoughtful he was and how much they appreciated his help.
He was also so dedicated to volunteering at Woodland Elementary School. Every week he would come in and help 1st graders with reading, woodworking, etc. What a wonderful asset to the school!
I'm so sorry we will be out of town the weekend of the 19th and won't be able to come to the celebration of life. We will, however, send prayers your way.
Please take care of you and let us know how we can help.

Dear Barb, I was so shocked to hear of the untimely passing of Ken. Through out the 8 years we worked together at DNR, I often watched the two of you from a far. You seemed inseperable and I admired your relationship so much. I often teased you (ok, a lot) about how handsome Ken was and that I wanted a husband just like him. I pray that your memories will sustain you through this difficult time and that you can go forward knowing that you shared many years with such a wonderful man. My heart breaks for you and your family. Love, Ginny
