To Family and Friends of Dale;
My deepest, heartfelt sympathy to you all; what a huge loss. You are all in my thoughts and prayers.
I regret I heard of Dale's passing the day after his memorial service. I would have wanted to be there!! Dale was one of those people you never forget, he left footprints on our hearts. I knew him as a much younger boy, but even then he had a zest for life, an incredible sensitivity about him, and that twinkle in his eyes, which you can still see even in his pictures. He will definately be missed by many. You are all in my thoughts and prayers!!
Take care. We were all very lucky to have known a wonderful spirit.
From Dale's former second grade teacher
Lisa Larson (now Simmons)

Becky and Joey: We are so saddened by the loss of Dale. We were so blessed to have known him beginning when he was three years old while he was in my daycare. Brad and Brittany grew up with Dale and Joey for the 5 years or so they were in my daycare. I am thinking of him daily and your sorrow. I keep picturing Dale as a little boy running round my home with the kids. He was always so good natured. I was lucky to run into Becky and Dale a few years ago at Fred Meyer and have been able to see how he grew up. I will treasure the memories of Dale.

I had the pleasure of knowing and working with Dale while he was a student at McKenny Elementary. Dale was incredibly energetic, enthusiastic, funny, and fun-loving. He made me laugh often. To this day I still share a certain humorous story about a time when he was in my class. He played hard and never let his health condition get in his way. Over the years, I thought about him often. He left that kind of memorable impression on those of us fortunate enough to have met him. From time to time, after he finished his schooling, I would bump into him. He was the same person with a great outlook on life. Somewhere up there, Dale is smiling down on all of us.

Our son's (Daniel Swain) played baseball together for several years and it with great saddness that I saw this in the paper. What I remember most about him was the great mischievous twinkle he had in his eye and his warm smile. It was always clear that he lived in a home that he knew he was loved. Becky and Joey you are in my thoughts and prayers in this most difficult time. Sincerely, Ralene

I'm sad to learn that Dale's illness took him at such a young age...he was a gentle and kindhearted young man who never gave up or 'gave in' to his illness. He persisted, where others may have given up at school becuase of missing so many days due to illness ...gotta love his 'can-do' spirit! My heart is with you both, Joey and Becky. Dale (and that sparkle in his eyes) will be remembered with a deep fondness by many. May God bring you peace and comfort beyond understanding... I'm blessed to have worked side by side with Dale during high school-he was an amazing young man.
