Obituary of Kenneth DeHart

Kenneth “Ivan” DeHart Kenneth "Ivan" DeHart passed away on July 1, 2006 of an extended illness. He was born March 4, 1927, to his parents Ebb DeHart, and Ellen Lucy DeHart (Hume) in Olympia, Washington. He attended local schools, and Graduated from William Winlock Miller High School, in 1946. During high school he worked in the Tacoma shipyards with his brother. He later was in the military armed forces in the Engineer Corp. from 1955 to 1957, he traveled to regions including Germany, and Nancy France. He chose logging as a career, and for forty five years he worked in a family business with his father and two brothers. During this time he performed most all types of logging in the industry. He was known as an expert Spar/Highclimber tree cutter. He is survived by his son Jaime Robinson (Greensboro, North Carolina), close companion Margaret (Mickey) Robinson (Olympia), Barbara McFayden step-daughter (Tumwater), as well as his and brother Edward DeHart and wife Delilah (Elma, WA), his brother Clarence (George) DeHart and wife Gaylia DeHart (Olympia), Tenny Hume, sister-in law (Beaverton, Oregon), and twelve nieces/nephews, and two great nieces/nephews. He enjoyed the outdoors, and enjoyed traveling throughout the Pacific Northwest to the Ocean and the Mountains for day trips. His canine friend Bingo was a special part of his life. He also enjoyed scouting antique shows/flea markets with family members for railroad memorabilia.
