I was sorry to read in the paper that Ivan had passed on. I used to run the Chehalis-Western Trail next to his house and that is where I met him. I was there every morning and if he wasn't already walking down the trail he was sitting on the bench when I returned. He always wanted to chat and many times I listened to his very interesting stories and he even brought me over to his wonderful garden for free veggies. I moved away from the area two years ago and lost touch with him. I can still see him sitting on the bench with a wave and a big hello for me. I am sorry for your loss and just wanted you to know I will always remember his kindness and wonderful positive attitude about life.

My thoughts and prayers are with everyone during this time of loss. I am a close friend of Jaime, and I do wish him comfort with the loss of his father, and for the rest of his family. I have heard so many stories over the years of working with Jaime, I feel like I know most everyone in the family. Jaime told me that his dad always called him "professor" and talked about the times he spent wih his dad on visits from NC. Keep those, and all other memories of your dad in your heart and mind and he will always be with you.

My dear friend, Jaime! We go back a long, long way..from when we first met at the Midway Swap meet! I will always think of you and your Dad, going back to that FUN time, when we searched, and hopefully, found our treasures, and enjoyed meeting up with our friends there! But, the first time I met you was when This "Kid" came up to my little table, an he KNEW Heisey! I will NEVER forget that! And your Dad was so very proud of you and your knowledge! I want you to keep those days in your memory, because it is the fun days, that we must remember! You were a wonderful. caring son, to your Dad, and I know he was very proud of you! My heartfelt condolences to your Mom, sister, and the rest of your family! You are in my thoughts and prayers, now, and will remain there, for many days to come.
Your always friend, Dorothy

To Ed and George, respective spouses and Mickey and Jamie, I am so glad I stopped by and visited Ivan when I could these past few months. Because now I have more special memories to store up. Ivan was my story teller, jokester, and one of Daddy's favorite cousins and I knew just why. He made my children laugh, fed them candy before dinner and filled them with Pop and they loved him for it. KC of course got to know him longer and better and all three have great memories. He could tell stores all day long and never tire, and I don't think I ever heard the same story more than once. Of course I had to take Monte over to Ivans to meet him being they both were loggers and I knew Monte would enjoy swapping stories and listening to a few he hadn't heard. He will be missed by many and this girl especially. He was one of a kind and loved very very much. God Bless you all and know, God probably needed another story teller, I will miss you Ivan. Love Rae

My Mom, Rae took us over to visit Ivan many many times. PaPa Hume took us with Nanny when we were just little tikes, JR and my sister KC used to tell me stories Ivan told them and I have such great memories of our visits, the candy bars and the pop we weren't suppose to have. But most of all the laughter in his eyes and the happiness we all got from those visits. Nanny used to tell us great stories about the whole family, and how nice Aunt Ellen was and Uncle Ebb and PaPa Hume would laugh so much when sharing stories about Ivan. Jamie I haven't lost a parent yet, thank God but I have lost my grandparents at a young age and I know the pain. Your Dad was a great guy and we will remember him all our lives. Love to All Krista
