Obituary of Jerry Forbes Craig

Jerry Forbes Craig Jerry Craig, age 75, a lifetime resident of Olympia passed from this life on May 16, 2006 at Providence St. Peter Hospital in Olympia. He was born January 3, 1931 to James and Marjorie Craig. Jerry married Marjorie Carlson on June 21, 1951 in Yuma, Arizona. He served in the U.S. Navy as a Photographer for 23 years. Jerry was the owner of the original Olympia Oyster House of Olympia for a number of years. During his restaurant career he owned a total of 13 restaurants mainly in the Olympia area including The Burger House, The Hill House, and The Red Bull. Always the entrepreneur, Jerry also owned a record shop and disco. He enjoyed spending time with his grand children; photography and his volunteer work with The National Association of Naval Photography were he was the regional and national newsletter editor. Jerry had served on the Board of the Washington State Restaurant Association. Jerry is survived by his wife Marge Craig, children, Jeri Lynn Robertson of Santa Monica, CA, Steve Craig of Seattle, Dennis Craig of Olympia and Sally Daniels also of Olympia and four grandchildren. Also surviving Jerry are Linda, Berry, Randy, Tim and Laurie, the children of his deceased identical twin brother Gerry. A graveside service for Jerry will be held this Saturday, May 20th at 11:00 a.m. at the Odd Fellows Memorial Park, 3802 Cleveland Ave., SE in Tumwater.
