It is very difficult for me to use mere words to express the love I have for my Dad. To say that he will be sorely missed is an understatement. I do feel blessed that the last six years or so I was able to spend quality time with him, and I could talk to him about anything. I will miss his laugh, his hugs, and I will miss sharing stories with him. He prepared me well for this life, about the imporatnce of family, and to stand up for the things I believe in. To be honest and fair, and to treat others as I would like to be treated. I would like to thank those of you who have written in, especially Mr. Gilliland. Your personal comments about my father mean alot to me, as I am also sure that my Dad was a rare man indeed! On behalf of my father, I THANK-YOU ALL.

My heartfelt sympathy to all of the Campbell family, especially my dear childhood friend Sandy and her sister Cyndy, and the rest of the Campbell kids. I have fond memories of your sweet and funny Dad from when I used to come and stay at your house in the summers when we were kids. My thoughts and prayers are with you all.

Sad to read of Herb's passing. I worked at Continental Can in the early 60's and was there when Herb was promoted to Press Department foreman. He was a good boss, always fair and willing to listen. He made a good impression on we, his workers, because he was a "hands-on" guy, having an in-depth knowledge of every piece of machinery and every task that his men were charged to perform. "Here, let me show you," rather than "do it" was Herb's style. That's rare.

Dear Uncle Lloyd,
I am so happy that you have been such a big part of our life since I can remember. I don't remember a time when you weren't around. I am flooded with memories of trips to many parts of Washington. Wherever there was water, we were there doing our best to capture any swimming creature that is a tasty treat to our families. I learned so much and realize as I get older that so many people do not experience the great outdoor things that we took for granted. One memory that I want to share is 2 summers ago when you were here, once again, visiting with Dad. Our 5 kids and their cousin Eric had gone down to Matney creek with a craw-dad trap that Paul and I gave them for Christmas. They put some raw bacon in the bottom and pulling it up a couple hours later, found it crawling with 14 beautiful craw-daddies!! They did not know how to cook them so..we called on you two. Of course you came right over and showed them, not only how to cook them, but how to crack them and eat them. (Better yet, what not to eat)
The kids will never forget that, nor will I.
You are indeed special and will live on in our hearts and prayers.
God bless and keep you dear Uncle.
Rest well and don't try out outfish Mother, she always caught the most!!!!
Love,
Laurie
