Mr. Campbell was always helpful as Gary and I worked on vehicles out in his garage.
His knowledge of all things mechanical really helped us out.
I'm sorry for the messes we made, and for the tools we broke.
The patience and kindness from you and your family towards me will never be forgotten.

Miss my dad. Every weekend and every night. I wait for his call. Sometimes it was kinda irritating. But I miss his voice and I'm so sorry I didn't save his last voice message saved. I thought like dad did that we would have another day. I know he his happy and watching me. Yikes... i'd better be be good. I'm my daddy's girl. Not that good all the time but a kind person at heart. I probably am the most like my dad than any other person in the family.

Uncle Howard,
Your presence in my life was always positive. You made me laugh when I was a little girl, and you and Aunt Barbara caught me when I was falling when I was only 18. You saved my life back then, though you may not have realized that was what you were doing. You gave me a place to gather my wits and move on to a better life than the one I had. For that and for your quiet patience, I will always remember you and be glad that I am related to you. Be at peace.

I remember the man to man talk my father had with me regarding my daughter Darby. My future wife, Allison, was going through a nasty custody dispute because Darby was being abused by Allison's ex-husband. With help from my Dad, we conducted an exhaustive search which finally found the proof that was needed to ensure Darby's safety.
After we had found the proof Dad pulled me aside and told me "don't you give a damned inch on this one that little girl needs you." I took his advice and although it wasn't always easy to keep fighting for I ended up with a beautiful wife, the most awesome family-and my Dad gained two granddaughters that loved him very much.
Dad, thank you so much for the strength that you gave us, helping me get my family safe, and for being the wonderful grandfather to Darby and Claire.
I will always miss the crazy schemes that you came up with-some of which actually worked!

I remember moving days, California apartments and avacado trees, my cousins getting buzz cuts, lines of salmon on a pole, cook outs, and you in a suit walking with girls at Jobies. Your family was lucky to have you and will continue to be fortunate that you remain part of their lives. Thanks for being part of mine.

Dear Big Boss,
You taught me everything I know, you were always there for me, sometimes I hated it, but your advice was always genuine and well meant. I was lucky to have had you as my Father even more happy to have considered you my friend. All I have to say right now is God has his hands full. Perhaps you could send us a memo "with duplicate copies- stamped with that damn copy stamp" of the things we will need to do to ensure our entrance some day to heaven. You will be missed, you will always be in my and those you have known hearts. Don't worry about Mom you know I will take care of her and I'm sure that you will always be there looking out for us.
Love Little Boss.

From the little rocking chair Howard made for Chase, to the loyal visits at the office, Howard was always thinking of someone else! I'll never forget his witty spirit, or the encouragement he offered, either verbal or through lists ;) a.k.a "What to do lists." Howard is at rest now, more energized, and I'm positively sure he is finding a better way to organize Heaven!

Friends Forever. Howard you were truly Larry's best friend and he loved spending time with you whether in school, at work, but mostly at play. We were very fortunate to be a part of Howard's life and will always remember the happy and good times we all shared with him. Howard you certainly made our life more exciting with your passion for excitement. Surfing in Oxnard and parachuting out of a plane. A lot to rehash with your friend Larry. The Blank Family loved you very much.

I have some great memories of Howard in my younger life, but most of all I remember what a friendly, kind person he was. I always felt comfortable talking with him and remember how he could make everyone laugh. He was truly my dad's best friend and he is with him now. I know Larry is happy to have his friend once again. They will watch over us and I'm sure they are laughing their heads off! We will all miss you!

Howard wasn't just my brother-in-law. He was truly family. My son Eoghan said the other night that Howard impressed him as a man who could talk to anyone, no matter who or what you were, and that he seemed to be so open and curious. That's a lovely quality, and I'll miss it.
I laughed reading David's comments here, because I recall the single best fishing day I ever had, which was with Howard more than forty years ago. On that day we seemed to catch every trout in the lake. He taught me how to fish, how to clean fish, and how to have a good time doing both. I'll miss that, too.

Dad,
I will miss you. I guess the two things that I want people to remember about you are your nicknames "MOUSE" and "H" and the fact that you could make any fishing trip hell as a result of your passion for making lists of every conceivable item that we might need. I was 30 years old and dad presented me with a list of personal clothing items (3 pairs socks, 3 Pair underwear, Toothpaste, etc...) that I needed to bring! His list for a two or three day fishing trip could be 5 or 6 pages long!
