Obituary of Karen Sue Britton

Karen Sue Britton Karen passed away on March 4, 2007 after a long battle with cancer. Karen is survived by her mother, Madeline Prange of Olympia. Her sister, Nancy Kohncke of Olympia; her nieces and their families, Geri and Ron Jennings and daughter Brianna of Yakima, Leigh Ann and Alan Bredy and their Sons, Gunnar, Joshua and Garrett of Vancouver, WA, Debbie and Don Tuman and their son Alexander of Tacoma. She is preceeded in death by her father, Garrett Prange. Karen was born in Culver City, California and grew up in Fresno, California. As a young adult she lived in Hawaii with friends. She moved back to the States and after a short time she moved to Washington to be with her sister's family. During this time she worked for the government as an accountant at Fort Lewis. In 2001, she retired from the government and spent the rest of her days in Olympia doing the things that she loved. During her retirement she enjoyed traveling with her mother and sister. Spending time with her family and friends was always a joy for Karen. She enjoyed volunteering at the Senior Center in Olympia, and reading and crocheting in her spare time. Karen will be greatly missed by all her family and friends. In lieu of flowers please send donations to the American Cancer Society.
