Karen, I will miss your always smiling and friendly face. You were always so kind, caring, sincere and gentle under any circumstance. Without knowing it, you taught me such graciousness and courage. I always envied your family for having such a great aunt/sister/daughter and special person in their lives.I wish you peace and calmness. You and all your family are in my prayers.

Karen was a lovely lady. She treasured her family, they meant so much to her. She was the kind of person who you wanted to know. Her warmth and honesty radiated from her. I was very saddened to hear of her death. But death is not the end....it is just part of the journey.

Here's an example of Aunt Karen's strength and determination. On the Saturday when all of us family members were in Olympia for her birthday celebration, we all went into her ICU room - a few at a time - to offer our wishes. I was one of the last ones to visit, and on my way out I signed "I Love You" to her after saying goodnight. Even though her hands and arms were uncontrollable from her tremors, she was able to lift her right hand towards me and for what seemed like forever showed me the same "I Love You" sign as calm as could be. I will always remember that moment above all others.
Goodnight, Aunt Karen. We love you.

I first met Karen when she was on a day trip with the Olympia Senior Center. I was newly retired and a new volunteer escort for the Senior Center Trips Program. Karen, sister Nancy and Mother, Madeline were so much fun to make a trip with. I sincerely enjoyed Karen's sharp wit and great smile. She could brighten anyone's day. I will miss her so much, but will always remember the many trips with her.
Everytime I escort another trip, I will think of Karen. My thoughts and prayers are with the family. Sincerely, Sharon

I want to express my sorrow at the loss of Karen. We were friends for many years and she was such a special person. Loving, warm and caring and never had an unkind word to say about anyone. I will miss her very much as our hearts were always connected. But I know that I will see her again in the next world and we will have a wonderful party at that time. Please realize that my thoughts and prayers are with you Nancy and Madeline and that I will always have a special place in my heart for Karen. Floye

I send my love and prayers to Karen's family. Karen was a wonderful friend and co-worker. She was always a warm and caring person, positive and good natured.
Besides working in the same organization at Fort Lewis, she and our friend, Floye, often came to visit when my husband and I moved to Ocean Shores. We had such good times!
We will all miss Karen very much. She remains in my prayers.

Nancy and your family, my husband and I send you our condolences for the loss of your beloved sister. As you well know, I lost my Dad in January, and I know that it takes a long time to recover from your loss. I know that Karen was your best friend, as you had told me at bowling. I worked with Karen at Ft Lewis. When she moved to San Bernardino to work, I made the trip with her. I was visiting family in Fountain Valley. We had a nice trip, and shared the driving. I will also remember Karen for her laugh and her wonderful sense of humor. I am sadden to hear of her passing. I kept in touch thru email, but hadn't heard from her lately. I did remember her birthday on 28Feb, but didn't take the time to call her.

Some of the most enjoyable of my civil service years were those spent at 9th Finance where I first met Karen and learned to appreciate KBGoofy's ever present smile, laughter and "can do" attitude. I will always cherish my happy memories of Karen and the silly things we did at a quarter to midnight on many 30ths of September! Bless you Karen. And for her family, you are in my thoughts and prayers, take care and thanks for sharing Karen with us!

I knew Karen through our work environment - we did not work in the same office or Division but for the same agency. In more recent years Karen joined some of us ladies who had retired from the Western Commissary Region (DeCA) for luncheons and just good visits and friendship. I join in the many who prayed for her survival of this awful cancer and also join the many who are grateful that she is no longer suffering and in a much better place. We will miss her but I'm sure we will still laugh as we reminisce about the fun and goofy times as I am sure each of you family members will also.

Karen will be missed but in my thoughts and memories always. She was such a caring and kind hearted person. She always made me laugh and made the day at work a little easier. She lived life to the fullest and made every minute count. God bless her family for sharing such a sweet lovable, kind woman. She was so proud of her family and loved to talk about them.
