Obituary of Dorthy Berg

Dorthy Alvera Berg Dorthy Berg, 83, passed away June 25, 2009 at Patriot’s Landing in Dupont, WA. She was born March 3, 1926 Seattle, Washington to Gustaf Hjalmer Nelson and Florence Christina Emelia (Lind). She lived in several homes in the Seattle area from 1926 through 2006 and graduated from Queen Anne High School in 1944. Dorthy married Clarence (Corky) Berg on November 20, 1946 in Seattle, WA. She worked as a bookkeeper and in accounting for the City of Seattle for over 30 years. Dorthy loved to knit, and travel, making numerous trips to Hawaii, and a memorable trip to Scandanavia in 1997. She was a long time member of First Lutheran Church of Richmond Beach, WA. Dorthy loved her family and relished family time celebrations, taking great pride in her children and grandchildren’s accomplishments. She is survived by her husband (63 years), Clarence (Corky) Berg of Patriot’s Landing, Dupont, WA; son, Alan (Robin) Berg of Lacey, WA; daughter, Linda (Norm) Smith of Anchorage, AK; six grandchildren, eleven great-grandchildren. Dorthy’s parents, Gustaf and Florence Nelson are deceased as well as two brothers, Charles Nelson and Robert Nelson and sister, Florence, Wercosky. A Memorial Service to celebrate her life will be held July 11th at 11am at St. Mark Lutheran Church located at 2109 College St. SE, Lacey, WA 98503.
