Corky, Alan, Linda and families,
I called Dorothy my 'other mother' and she called me her 'other daughter'. I grieve with you all, but find such peace and comfort knowing that she is in the arms of our Lord and Savior. My memories of Dorothy and our two families together are warm and happy---even in the rain at Ocean Shores when the 8 of us shared one tent so many years ago!! I was blessed by Dorothy's unconditional love, and honored to be her 'other daughter'. Love, Tammy

Dorthy seemed almost like a step-mom to me for many years. I have such strong memories of the three families from First Lutheran--the Berg, Botten, and French coalition (or musketeers!) as we had many picnics at Carkeek Park (it looks the same with many modern improvements!) and many other Sunday gatherings, especially us kids, climbing poison ivy trails, playing name that tune in someone's basement, camping at Hood's Canal, working as an usher at Seattle Center, skiing with a clumsy Linda (and me) and the bossy brother Alan... and Dorthy made a mean Swedish pancake. Even as Corky and Dorthy grew older, they were always there with a big hug, kiss, greeting. And my favorite thing that Dorothy always said, no matter how old you were--she always called you "KID"...Much love to Corky, Alan, Linda and their families.

Dear Corky and family,
It is with a heavy heart that I have heard about the death of Dorthy and as with you I find myself running to the words of eternal life that are given in Christ Jesus! Thanks be to God for that good news even in the face of death.
I couldn't help but remember the first time I meet the "Senior" Berg family. It was at your home in probably 1981 as a group of us "Luther leaguers" came up with Alan and Robin from Trinity Victorville to sleep on your floor on the way to the ship Christian! It was a model of hospitality that made a mark on me as I did the same to my parents some 10 years later as I brought a group of youth to sleep on their floor as we ventured towards a regional youth gathering.
And of course later in Silverdale I always enjoyed it when you Corky and Dorthy would come to visit us at worship or when our family was invited to join the Bergs on holidays and special events. What joy Dorthy had in being the proud grandma and then great grandma!
We will hold all of you in prayer as we mourn with you her passing and await for that which only God in Jesus Christ can accomplish!
Peace to you all! Jeff, Kelly, Andrew and Aaron Frohner, San Clemente.

I always thought my aunt Dorothy had wings because she was always an Angel to me. I'm thinking now she must have a REALLY great set of wings and I know she'll save a spot for me and shelter me under those wings. She has always had room in her heart for us all and I treasure her memory. My love to you all, especially you Uncle Corky.
