It's been a week since you've been gone and I can't pause a second in my day and not think about you and everything you've brought to my life. I'm so grateful that you have been there for Andy & I all along. From rushing mom to the hospital when I was born, giving me my first stuffed animal Henry (who I still have and charish), trick or treating at your house when we were young, visits in Arizona with you and Fran, being at your wedding to Betty, walking me down the isle and giving me away when I married Nick (the first time) and calling me sweetheart whenever I entered the room. You have always been a GRAND person to be with. Your advice, strength, love, support and everything you stood for and instilled in us with never be gone even though you are. I'm blessed to have the family that you and grandma created and even more blessed that you were such an active part of the entire families lives in these last wonderful years. I wanted more time...I wanted you to be here longer with us and share more memories that will be coming our way. Even though your pain and frustrations are gone, I can't help but feel so sad that you are no longer here. The piller of strength, even though your body wasn't as strong, will be missed. I love you so very much Grandpa and thank you for loving me all my life. I knew and felt it every time I was with you. You eat all the ice cream there is grandpa, it's yours to have!!!!

When we first met you, many years ago, we knew that you were military. You looked and behaved the respected military man. You were also welcoming and warm to us as outsiders. Thanks. Our thoughts any prayers are certainly with the beautiful and wonderful family that loved you. We know that you are now in a better place and will be waiting to greet us all some day.

Dad, you will certainly be missed. You were born to be a Military Officer, I always admired your leadership ability and discipline. You always demanded respect and taught all around you to settle for nothing less than the best. You instilled so many valuble traits in all your children. Although we were never as close as I wanted, I loved you. Skip

Dad, we go back many years, hard to believe it's 40 now. My first sweet memory of you is receiving a complete set of Nortaki china for an engagement present when you were stationed in Vietnam. What a thing to do in the middle of a war. Our "once a year lunches" when Skip, Rob & I would visit from California. Best of all though was the time over the last few years when FAMILY became so much more important and we all learned to share the love. I thank
Betty for opening those long shut windows and letting the light in. We will miss you, but your presence will always be here with us. Love, Paula

Grandpa, you will be missed, but you are always loved and always were. From the moment I first met you in that RV behind Aunt Shirly's house, I knew you were a true hero. Your smile, your commanding 6' 4" stature, you are a true hero and always have been and will to me. You have always been there for me when times were low with a big bear hug to squeeze all the pain away and joke to make me laugh. I can never stress enough how much you have impacted my life as more than just another relative, you were and always are my hero and biggest infulence to do better and improve myself. I will always miss your jokes, your bear hugs, and that goodbye wink you always gave.
Your Grandson
Qais ;)

I'll never forget your 75th brithday in Airizona and I had my broken arm, and i'll never forget when we were outside and you got up and said "here let me show you something" and you showed me this bird nest and then you were telling me all about it, and how the birds make their nest. I'll never forget your smile, laugh, big bear huggs, and the story we all heard about the "salad out the nose". I only knew you for 11 years I wish I could have known you longer, but it was time for you to leave and I'll always, always remember one thing the most about you, you! But not just you, everything about you, your personality, your everything!
xoxo Sarah Kathryn Anwar :)
I'll never forget you
I LOVE YOU !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Daddy, I am thankful that I knew you loved me, and all of our family, although you did'nt always show it. This is really hard for me because I remember when times were not so good. I choose to remember the man who grew and learned to show how much he loved his children and realized how much he missed. That said.....I know that your life lives on inside all of us..whether we want it or not (YOU KNOW WE ALL GOT YOU AND MOMS WICKED SENSE OF HUMOUR... WE ARE ALL CURSED). Mom gave us forgiveness and understanding. You had it harder, you were gone alot of the time and had to come home after being away. Things did'nt work out. But we all know you and mom made five terrific children, against all odds. It would be real easy to point fingers or to judge...I am here to say that I always loved you and I remember the good and the bad...I know that Betty brought you back to us. She made you realize that we were important and should be a part of your life... Thank you for showing Qais and Sarah that you loved them and that they had such a great Grandpa. I wish I had made more time for you in my life. I could use your stock knowledge........I love you Daddy,

We wish to send our condolences to everyone who is grieving the loss of this great man, especially our friend, Sherry. While we did not know "grandpa" very well, we have had the privilege and honor of knowing his children and grandchildren who have touched our lives in more ways than they will ever know. Thank you all for making us feel like we're a part of your family. Our thoughts and prayers are with you.

Dad, as I've grown older I realized how much of you is in me and my siblings and I hope we are able to take the best of you and carry those things on to the next generation. I will rememeber always the "stubborn Dutchman", your passion for food, a quick wit with a wonderful sence of humor, your commitment to your county through your military service, the astute buiness and financial person, and the man who learned in his later years to easily say "I love you" to his family. You were so much a part of my daily life these last couple years that it will be hard to fill the hole in my heart. I pray God has put his loving arms around you and given you peace.

Grandpa, thank you so much for all that you have brought into my life. Grandma Kitty has been the most caring, loving, amazingly supportive person I have had the honor to have in my life. The two of you gave me the best Aunts and Uncles anyone could hope for growing up. Aunt Nora always taking me to the movies and playing video games, Uncle Dale with his wonderful sense of humor and putting up with me as a teenager when I was always borrowing his tools to work on my first car and taking forever to get them back, and Aunt Marry with her wonderful cookies, big heart, and the wonderful times we have had at the property in Eastern Washington camping under the stars. Uncle Skip with his passion for the things that are important to him like his music has instilled in me the sense of never settling for second best. Then there is my Mom. I can't thank you enough for giving me the best Mother anyone could ask for. She has given me strength when I have been weak, confidence when I have been unsure and support when I have needed it most. I have you to thank Grandpa for all these amazing people in my life. A Sister who helped me become the man I am today by being my best friend and always being there when I needed advice and encouragement. The strength of our family is testament to your strength in life. Of course one of your greatest achievements was marring the women responsible for bringing our family together again after all those wasted years. Grandma Betty we are so lucky to have you in our family and bringing Grandpa back into the lives of his Children and Grandchildren. We can never thank you enough for what you have done for our family and being there for Grandpa during his happiest years late in his life and your strength and patience at the end. Most of all, thank you for the continued circle of life that lives on when you are gone through my baby girl Joselyn Grace. I am so happy you were able to hold her in your arms and know that your legacy lives on through her. Thank you for teaching me golf, your faith in my abilities, and your love that was ever so present in your hugs and our conversations. I'm looking forward to another round of golf when we can be together again. Until then, I will miss you so much.
