Bobby and I were born a week apart in 1954. We grew up together in Linda Vista going thru Chesterton Elementary and I watched him become a Captain of the Patrol Boys. I was so impressed with his intelligence and his humor kept me laughing for many years to come. When I confided in him my love for a girl at Montgomery Jr High he busted my ass in front of her and never let me live it down. One day I was walking home from Chesterton this big kid started pushing me around. I couldn’t run as I was and am an Asthmatic. Out of nowhere Bobby runs up and punched this kid so hard a tooth flew out of his mouth. I haven’t forgotten that day either. We had our families about the same time and had great times together. I have and will continue miss my best friend as long as I live.
