Obituary of Robert Lawrence Stockert

Robert Lawrence Stockert passed away after a sudden illness on November 13, 2014, in Olympia, Washington. He was born June 25, 1954 in San Diego, California, to James Stockert and Sylvia Stockert Cox. He served from 1971 to 1975 in the U.S. Army 82nd Airborne at Ft. Bragg, North Carolina, as a E4 artillery cannonier. He was married to Janet Stockert, and later to Veronica Parra Stockert. A 24-year resident of Olympia, Robert recently worked at Little Creek Casino. Robert was a strong, calm man who loved his family, music, books, movies, and food. He is survived by sons, Fred and Ed Stockert; daughter, Alena Stockert; granddaughter, Marlena Hernandez and five other grandchildren; brothers, James A., Joel P., Daniel R. and Andrew T. Stockert; sisters, Margaret M. Stockert and Adrienne Ireland; and many extended family members to whom he was known as Uncle Tio. He was predeceased by his wife, Veronica; mother, Sylvia; father, James; and brothers, Martin and David A. Stockert. Memorial donations may be made to Timberland Regional Library.
