I am utterly saddened by rich’s passing- I as many have a niemer story- he was a gentleman, a true professional, and a very real human being- I gasped when I heard the news two days ago- april 25.
I do have one of his .45’s- which I will honor and treasure
He will be with me until my passing- I will look him up when I arrive in 45 ville
I hope the niemer family will contact me so that I may express more of my feelings for rich

I worked and shot with Richard in the mid 80’s, back in the Detonics days. Richard was a friend, but more than that a mentor who helped me along the path of life that I had chosen. Richard (and Chuck) probably had more influence on me than any other persons outside of my family. Those days working together will always be some of my best ever. Life’s path led me to the other side of the country and I had not had the chance to see or talk with Richard for may years, but he will be missed.

Ric was a good friend and always willing to help and mentor. When ask questions regarding his passion (1911s), he was willing to share thoughts and information. I will truly miss him.
My condolences to his daughter and all of his family at this sad time.

Dearest Tessa,
Laurel let me know the sad news of your father passing and I want to send a big hug your way. I lost my father a year and a half ago and I still miss him terribly, but I also remember all of the wonderful years I spent with him as I know you do with your father. He helped you to become the beautiful person you are and he will always be a part of you.
Love to you,
Mo

To Richard’s family and especially Tessa my most heartfelt condolences. One of my memories of Richard includes a boat ride around Lake Washington and watching him and Tessa and seeing the love they have for one another.
Ric from our days at Detonics, shooting matches from British Columbia to Illinois, working once again together at Olympic Arms, the memories are many. I am missing you already my friend.

I met and started shooting with Richard back in the 80’s. He was the one who got me into 1911’s, and the rest they say is history.
Never met a more genuine person. He would put down what he was doing to give you his full attention. He was never to busy to help.
He was a very humble person. I never detected much of an ego. Knew his stuff like few others in the industry do.
What a great loss to many who were influenced by his skill, yet never met him or knew of him.
May the road rise up to meet you.
May the wind always be at your back.
May the sun shine warm upon your face,
and rains fall soft upon your fields.
And until we meet again,
May God hold you in the palm of His hand.
