Dear Diana we will miss you very hard but are so glad you’ve been to Belgium in 2014. You came to Belgium for seeing Liliane and the family but it was to late for her. We have enjoyed your visit.
We will never forget the first time that you came to visit us with Burt.
Rest in peace dear Diana, we will miss you hard.
Burt we hope to see each other ever again, and we will never forget her
Your family from Belgium

I didn’t hear of Di’s death until I read a recent Chronicle article by Bill Moeller. I’m thinking we must have met in the early ’60’s when the Timberland Regional Library was still a “demonstration.” I’ll always remember the music, but even more that wonderful smile.

I’m so very sorry for your loss. Di was an amazing person who’s spirit I admired. One thing I will always remember is her describing her battle with cancer as life’s next adventure! Wow! She will be missed immensely.

We knew Di for a very short time in comparison to many. She and Burt climbed our hill religiously. Happily we see you often making the climb now, Burt. It was evident when we met Di that she was a soul to be cherished. I feel certain that she is on a splendid new adventure.

My memory of Di goes back to Applejam, around 1981. Not to long after, I purchase my Burt Meyer GLute. I consider Burt and Di to be the first folk couple of OLYMPIA.
Di had that very rare quality of making everyone she knew feel seen and appreciated. I’m sure when we meet again, her first word will be “Ahoy”!

I only learned of Di’s passing last Friday night at the Sea Shanty sing aboard the Virginia V. I had not heard that she was ill. Although I did not know you two well, I enjoyed several of the Budd Bay Buccaneer performances at Tumbleweed, and have three of the CDs in which Di figured prominently (especially No Dirty Words).
Last Friday night I happened to be wearing a hat that I had picked up at the 2006 Victoria Tall Ships festival. The singing there that night at the Bent Mast with you guys, Hank Cramer and the Victoria folkies was as good as it gets; I’ll remember it always.
So sorry for your (and the community’s) loss.

I have never got the chance to meet Di and Burt but we’ve been in contact for a while and I really enjoyed every letter, mail I received.
The whole story started many years ago. Both of you came to Germany and visited my grandparents and since then there have been a connection between our both families.
I’m truly sorry about your lost and saddened to hear about her passing.
All the best to you and your family and friends!

To many “Di” refers to the Princess of Wales but “Our” Di was Captain of our Hearts. She was cheerful, generous, kind and also capable of installing standards and bringing the crew into harmony. I am so very sorry that she missed being at her send off in person because I know she would have approved of every minute. Our vibrant Di is already sorely missed.

When we want to think of a positive, good human being, we think of Di. Ever supportive. Ever welcoming…and what a voice! Lots of warm memories. She will be missed and not forgotten.

I’m so sorry I missed the news of Di’s passing, and missed the celebration of her life. I haven’t been to many of your events, but do have happy memories of those I attended. I love your music and what I know of your life together. I am sorry for your loss, but congratulations on a life well lived. I have a wonderful memory from the 1960’s, when I met Burt and Di thanks to Blaine Coppin. I was a very naive ex-seminarian, and was totally bowled over when Di sang a very sexy song – I can’t dig the song out of my memory bank except that it contained a line with something about “…I’ll sit on it before I’ll give it away . . . ” I was so taken by it that I asked her to sing it again and sat enraptured. She was quite a lady and a hell of a woman. Burt, you were a lucky man.

Gone, but certainly not forgotten. The voice and spirit continue to inspire me whenever I pick up my mandolin or fiddle. Rest easily, friend, knowing you wielded such a powerful influence.

Di was a friend of over 50 years and was always a proverbial ray of sunshine in a dark room. She was a wonderful actress, singer, free spirit and special life partner to Burt….She will be so missed, but what wonderful example of how to live she left as a legacy….

Having not been on touch for some time we were so sad to learn of Di’s death. We both got to know her as co-workers at the State Library so many years ago. She had such a no-nonsense attitude that she certainly must have maintained to the end. Among our fondest recollections are the Mud Races at their place on Mud Bay and, of course, the music. Which brings us to recollect that, when the State Library was forced to move from its signature building on the Capital Campus, staff held a wake in its honor. Di and her Seisun co-musicians (including Burt, of course) provided the joyous music for the occasion. We are truly glad that her life is being celebrated in like fashion.

I am saddened to hear of Di’s passing. She was such a fighter and remained so upbeat throughout the time I was aware she was ill. Carolyn and I were just speaking of both Burt and Di when we met in the mountains of NC for my sister’s wedding. Together Burt and Di brought such musical joy to so many. Di had a unique spirit that sprung from her, whether in conversation or belting out a shanty. We will miss her but enjoy the wonderful memorabilia Burt, Vicki, and others have gathered for sharing.
