I am so saddened to hear of Richard’s passing. All I can think, he no longer is in pain, no longer in discomfort and no longer suffering. I will miss his spirit, kindness, humor, hugs and calling me a hippie. My love and prayers are to you, Irene and your family.

We graduated from Eatonville High School together – then when I started to work at the Department of Transportation in Tacoma, he was employed there as a mechanic, such a small world. We had school memories plus he was a member of the Upper Nisqually Gun Club in Eatonville where my family belonged, so we had lots to talk about – He will be missed

First, our condolence to Irene and family.
Working, hunting, fishing, and hiking with “Red” was always an adventure. I met him while working at Boeing in Seattle. We were on the same Interior crew. After transferring to Everett and getting things rolling there we were laid off. He got a job in Aircraft maintenance at Pangborn in East Wenatchee. Seeing him reskin a Stearman wing was an extraordinary experience I’ll never forget. After working there he got a job with WSDOT in Wenatchee with winters on the Stevens Pass crew.
Our many fishing trips in Central WA were always fun. I bagged my first grouse hunting with him near Pearrygin Lake and first duck at Alder Lake.
We took many hikes in the Cascades back in the day before permits or parking passes were needed. Every one of them whether in rain, snow, or darkness ended well.
Richard will be sorely missed by all his family, friends, and coworkers.

I’ll miss Richard as a good friend and hunting partner, his electrical knowledge on my antique cars, and all the jokes we used to play on each other!

I will miss Richard’s humor and laugh having worked with and been friends with him for almost thirty years. Some of the hunting trips were the most memorable. I pray his family will be comforted with memories and knowing others care.
