What a great man, who touched so many in a very positive way. Bill was a warm and caring person with a great sense of humor. He was quick to smile and always happy to see you… A rare man who was a great listener and never judged.. Smart, artistic and very humble….I am thinking he was so humble he never realized the impact he had on so many lives……,,, Lori, your loss is huge, but his love for your great…I hope you find comfort in the many wonderful memories you gathered with Bill over the years… To be honest, it is hard for me to imagine he is gone…

I’ve know Bill & Lori since 1979 when I first moved to Olympia as a new Dental Hygienist. They were more than just patient’s to me. Bill had “magical” talents as an Artist and his warmth and caring will always be remembered. I will always feel connected to him enjoying the treasures he made first for my father who has since passed away that I now have. My sincere hugs to you Lori for your loss. His memories will live on in all of our hearts!

I was fortunate to know Bill Feeney when I was at Lakes and at Pleasant Glade. Perhaps I connected to him, because I had gone to school in Illinois and we could compare cold winters. Bill was very modest about his talents and very kind. He could bring a book alive when he read aloud to his students. The way he retired from teaching spoke volumes about how he was as a person. He didn’t tell any of us about his decision, and the last day of school, he slipped a good-bye note under our doors. Bill did not want a lot of attention brought to himself – teaching kids was the important part. I have met several adults that think of Bill Feeney as their “favorite” teacher. His teacher toolbox must have been very large – plus kids are able to read ‘authenticity’ pretty easily. And, Bill was authentic – kind, artistic, intelligent, and humorous. My heart goes out to you, Lori. Losing a soul mate like Bill is a hard pill to swallow. May your best memories help soothe your grief. Blessings to you and your family.

My 6th grade year is recalled as a fun time, I still tell my adult children and my students riddles that Mr. Feeney shared with our class at Lakes. What could have been a year of rough transitions is in my memories, a year of laughter. Thank you Mr. Feeney.

Lori, we were so sorry to read of Bill’s death. We remember you both fondly, the never complaining, always friendly, never complaining customers at Bailey’s. We loved being invited into your home to see Bill’s beautifully carved birds, what a talent. We would love to hear from you, don’t have your number. Our sincere condolences.

I went to school with John Feeney (in fact we had a mini-crush on each other when we were young). My Mom was a 4th grade teacher in the North Thurston School District, so we knew almost all of the Feeney gang. A wonderful family!

Mr. Feeney was my six grade teacher. I absolutely adored him. He was always encouraging, patient and kind. I felt he was truly interested in my success. The year I was in his class, (78/79), Mr. Feeney, being the talented artist he was, would draw a poster size picture each month and incorporate each student in the picture. At the end of each month he would draw a student’s name out of a hat, and that student go to take the picture home. It was always a masterpiece that each one of us wanted for our own. I was lucky enough to have my name drawn once. I may still have the picture somewhere packed away.He frequently shared his childhood memories of growing up in Wisconsin. Sleeping with 15 blankets on in the winter. Walking to school in five feet of snow. These were always enjoyed by all. Mr Feeney was a wonderful teacher. RIP Mr. Feeney. Thank you for all the fond memories of my six grade year.
