Shocked and saddened to see the news of Tim’s passing here. I was using a search engine to reconnect with Tim as I’d lost his contact skinny. We hadn’t much kept in touch since HS, but Tim reached out after he had retired from the AF (and shared the news of his surprising marriage to Hermilyn). He was a great guy, someone everyone liked. You always think there will be time to see and do all the things you want / plan to in the future, but there are no guarantees and life on this earth is short. Sad we didn’t get the chance to have a reunion. My condolences and sympathies to his family. God bless!

Hermilyn and family – I am so saddened by your loss. Tim was a kind person who always thought of others before himself. I met Tim at a time in my life that I was struggling and he was always a shoulder to cry on and a hand to help. His one true love in life was always Hermilyn! I knew so much about you, Hermilyn, before I ever got the chance to meet you. Tim was the happiest when the two of you reconnected. My thoughts, prayers and condolences are with you at this time.

So sorry to hear of his passing Tim was a kind and sweet man. And as childhood cousins we had a lot of fun growing up and spending time together. We did not get to see each other much as adults but we still thought about each other. My Prayers are with the Family, I know words can’t help anyone understand why God took him at such a early age but there is always a plan we may not see it right then but if we keep our eyes on God we will. May God Bless you all and keep you safe through your time of sorrow. And give you strength to carry on and comfort your heart were Tim will be forever.
Love Debbie Thurston { Bonnell } and Bill

Our deepest sympathies to you and all of Tim’s family.
Tim was my neighbor and his dad, Ray was my supervisor when I was stationed at Hickam AFB HI. I remember Tim as outgoing and active. He always had a kind greeting and on occasion we would spend time chatting. As our military careers took us far and wide we settled in Puget Sound area. I enjoyed talking to Tim about our common hobbies, aviation and Ham radio. Tim was a valued friend and will be missed.

I did not know Tim very well and my memories of him are from the younger years of our lives. I do remember that every comment I ever heard about him was about how sweet a person he was. I understood that he was a gentle sweet person. I am so sorry that such a great person is gone … and I hope that his family will find joy celebrating his time here with them and comfort knowing that we share in the sadness of missing him here.
Love,
Lisa Jones (Crenshaw)

We are saddened by the loss of our great friend Tim.
We have known Tim for 15 years. He was always available when we had problems with our computer, and everything inside and outside the house. He planned and installed our sprinkler system. He fixed our water filtration system. He fixed our lawnmower/tractor. He helped build a nice big arbor around our deck. He helped in cleaning the moss on our roof top- in the process, he helped me to conquer my fear of heights by letting me become comfortable in riding a cherry picker.
Tim was our “CAN DO” best friend. There was nothing that Tim can’t fix in our house.
Tim was the modern “McGyver” ( TV series in the 80’s) of our time. Give him a pocket knife and a screw driver and he’ll fix anything.
Tim is greatly missed. May he rest in peace.

Our hearts are saddened greatly for the loss of a great friend and neighbor. Tim was more than just a friend and neighbor. He sat the standard for how we are to treat others by his example. When we first met Tim and moved into the cul-de-sac within a month of each other – Earl was outside working on one of the cars and Tim came down and introduced himself and immediately they became friends. Anytime there were car questions of any sort, Tim always had the right answer on how to fix it. His expertise in computers was always greatly appreciated and Earl learned a great deal just by watching, listening and having Tim’s help. He and Hermilyn were the type of close friends and neighbors that when Earl was deployed, my daughter and I felt safe and secure knowing that they were keeping watch over us. Tim had an awesome sense of humor and every time he visited us, he entered our home with the phrase, “Git R Done!” He always talked lovingly about how he met his wife in high school, his face shined every time he mentioned her name. We had the opportunity in the Spring to accompany Tim and have him pilot. It is a memory that we will never forget. We feel our life is enriched and blessed since we have came to know the Daughtery family. Tim lived by example from the passage in the Bible, Acts, 20:35 “It is more blessed to give, than to receive.” We will never forget you Tim, rest in God’s glorious peace.

I first met Tim when we were stationed together at MacDill AFB, Tampa, FL around 1983. We became fast friends partly due to our shared hobby of Citizen’s Band (CB) radio. Tim’s CB handle was the “Alabama Rebel” and I was the “Cowboy.” We would spend hours having fun on the CB and with Tim you always spelled FUN with capital letters! He would do different characters on the CB and the funniest one I remember was, “Don Juan Jose Gonzalez.” The whole south side CB community would laugh hilariously when Tim got going with that character. As time went on we would be stationed at different locations but Tim would always ‘check-in’ with me if he was going to be where I was (he travelled quite a bit because of his superior knowledge and skills in electronics which the air force gladly capitalized on). Tim became an Extra Class (the highest class) ham (amateur) radio operator and through his coaxing I got my license too. My heartfelt prayers and sincerest condolences go out to his wife Hermilyn and his family. My dear friend Tim, you will be greatly missed and I will never forget you! Jim
