Timothy Daugherty

Obituary of Timothy R. Daugherty

Timothy, 53 years old, passed away at Providence St. Peter Hospital on December 9, 2013, surrounded by family. He was born April 26, 1960, to William Raeford Daugherty and Laura (Mahaffey) Daugherty in Greenville, South Carolina. He graduated from Radford High School in Honolulu, Hawaii in 1978, and Park College with a Bachelor’s in Computer Science and Management Information Systems. In April 1998, Timothy married Hermilyn Aldover, whom he had met in high school in 1978 and married 20 years later. As an Air Force dependent, Timothy lived in several states (South Carolina, Georgia, North Carolina, Hawaii, Maine, and California). While in the U.S. Air Force from 1978 to 1998, Timothy lived in Texas, Mississippi, Florida, Utah, Nevada, and Arizona. He traveled extensively all over the world, ultimately retiring to Washington, where he lived for the last 15 years. Timothy enjoyed flying small aircraft, building and flying model airplanes, and scuba diving. He was a member of the RFTS Flying Club. He loved electronics, especially working on and building computers, and his CB and ham radios. He also loved fushing. He loved listening to mainstream music from the 70s and 80s, country music, and listening to comedians with such as Roy D. Mercer and Blue Collar Comedy. He was a man who liked to have fun. He worked for Intel as a test engineer. He loved his job so much that he went to work to “play.” Timothy is survived by his wife of 15 years, Hermilyn; three step-sons, Jared Holman, Michael Bonacci, and Zachary Bonacci; one step-daughter, Shianne Holman; his sister, Kim Bautista; his parents, William and Laura Daugherty; and three grandchildren. Timothy was a man who would help anyone in need. If he didn’t have the answer, then he would not rest till he got it. He loved to tell jokes and pull harmless pranks on his friends and family.
