Marie , we are so glad to have met your mother. She was a very sweet person. She will be missed but we know that she is with her Lord and is in her eternal home with loved ones.

Our prayers for the family but celebration that Betty is now is the presence of her Lord and Savior and has joined in the chorus of those who have gone on before. Les & I always enjoyed the earlier visits with Betty and how her face would light up when Les gave her a hug!

I have such wonderful memories of Betty in my heart. She was a very fun, upbeat, and kind person. Whenever I came in contact with her, she made me feel so special. Such a great lady. My love and prayers go out to the family.

Special is the word that describes both your Mom and Dad. Your Mom’s smile lit up a room and she so enjoyed a good laugh. Your parents were both so giving of themselves and faithfully sponsored our college group putting up with all of our antics and enthusiasm. We’re so grateful to have had them both in our lives and know there is much rejoicing in heaven as your Mom joins your Dad and the Homebuilders (my mom and dad) in heaven!! May you receive comfort in having such a wonderful Mom who gave herself so freely. I know you miss her but your memories will sustain you. Lovingly, Betty and Joe

Marie and Joyce – How sad I was to read of Betty’s passing in the paper today. Sharon Throness and I had just talked about coming to visit her! She and George were such a great couple and example during my early years at Emmanuel – I went to my first Philos Retreat at their urging and making sure I knew I was welcome. Betty and I shared many laughs over the years, especially when she told me “God must have a sense of humor if He created you”! She has been missed at Emmanuel, and she and George will always have a warm spot in my memories.
Love to all of your family.

I am thinking of you as I fondly remember Betty. She was one of the sweetest persons I’ve ever known, very cheerful, with a smile that was infectious, welcoming, and heartfelt. Every time I was with her, Betty showed a sincere interest in me and was a great listener. I have appreciated that and will always remember her for it. And, Marie, I happily remember some fun times with you after church at your place in Sand Point, your mom being a wonderful hostess I am very blessed to have known Betty. And I cherish the nice memories of her, your dad, and you…her family.

My condolences to Betty’s family and friends. I first met and worked with Betty at Washington School Employees Credit on Eastlake Ave. E. ( I believe this is the same Betty Chapin. She was a big fan of Liberace. ) Please notify me of the date and place of the service. Thank you. Bobee

Dear Marie and Jim,
Our memories of Betty include her always being such a big fan of Jim’s singing, so proud of her daughter,
grandchildren, sweet of nature and having a ready smile. Her years of being independent and going to places like Cannon Beach or Park of the Pines meant thoughtful comments and words of encouragement for those of us who were fortunate enough to have her in the audience when we sang. She was a precious person. I look forward to having time getting better acquainted with her someday in Heaven. I know you will miss her, but the joy she must be experiencing now is so beyond what we can imagine. Some day we also will know.
Blessings,
Ruthanna and Roy Metzgar

“For God is not unrighteous to forget your work and labour of love, which ye have shewed toward His name, in that ye have ministered to the saints, and do minister” Hebrews 6:10.
Through Betty Chapin’s financial donations, she ministered the Word of God to precious lives in multiple other lands through Cross Currents International Ministries. Now, Betty’s works follow after her as the Lord Jesus continues to reach those she helped minister to while here on earth. With many others, we anticipate the day when we will join her in worship of our blessed Lord Jesus in Heaven Who made it all possible because of His shed Blood at Calvary.
