I have many wonderful memories of my time spent with Marilyn. Marilyn's pleasant personality and the twinkle in her eye are what I first noticed about her attributes. Over many years we have spent a lot of time at many bridge tables.
Several years ago Marilyn and Howard joined me and another couple for a week's vacation in Seaside, OR. We had such a wonderful time with lots of laughter. They were so much fun. Howard had many stories to tell and share.
Over the following years Marilyn and a couple other ladies spent three more weeks together in Seaside, OR and Discovery Bay, WA. We played bridge, cooked, ate amazing meals, went on a few excursions, and shared wonderful conversations and stories. She brought projects to work on in her free time. One trip she worked on making the most adorable, beautiful teddy bear I had ever seen. She was making it for a great grandchild. The most recent trip was the 3rd week of May of this year to Seaside, OR. It was a shock to hear she had passed away a little over a month later.
A wonderful memory was last year when her daughter Lisa came to visit us when we were in Discovery Bay. It was a very special day for Marilyn.
Once a month we played in a duplicate bridge group together. It was always fun to play with Marilyn because she was a good bridge player.
I will never forget Marilyn's 90th birthday party at her son Robert's home. It was a shock to hear she was 90. Marilyn looked and acted 20 years younger than her age. She looked especially beautiful and she was so proud of her son. His home on Puget Sound has a spectacular view and he has landscaped it like a professional.
I think of and miss Marilyn often. It is very hard to lose one who is so unique and special.
Her friend,
Virginia Hessler

To all the family,
I was so sorry to learn (from Chris) of Marilyn's sudden illness and then how fast it took her from us.
She always had a beautiful smile and warm heart. And she aged so gracefully.
She was a dear cousin and will be sincerely missed.
My deepest sympathy,
Carolyn

I will remember Marilyn as a kind person with a wonderful sense of humor. She always had a smile and a story to tell. I played bridge with her for many years and played bridge with her a few days before she passed. She was in good spirits and still smiling. I will miss her.

I was stunned to hear Marilyn was sick. I am a member of her knitting group and always tried to sit next to her. When I dropped a stitch, I just handed my project to her and seconds later it was fixed no matter how many rows down. Marilyn could take two skeins of yarn and make a beautiful project. Yarn never went to waste. Besides her artistic skills, Marilyn had a great sense of humor to lighten her slight outrage at bureaucracy from companies such as Comcast and both local and national politics. She turned these annoyances into entertaining stories. Everyone in her knitting group will miss her, as I imagine many others will too.
