I met Lilis when I first moved to Shelton in 1992. I had recently lost my mom and Lilis said she had always wanted a daughter and took me under her wing. We’ve shared a special bond ever since. I enjoyed many teas and good conversations with her at their Mason Lake home. I so admired Lilis’s positive outlook on life, treasured her strong will, and loved her sense of humor and hearty laugh.
RIP my dear friend Lilis.

Lillis was a vibrant preson, full of energy and good will. She was also a great pianist with whom I shared the musical score in the Evergreen Theatre presentation of "the Fantastiks "in the 70s. Great lady.

My dear Tom, Jeffrey, Timothy and Stephen, I was very sadden to hear about your Mother's passing. I'm so thankful I saw her at your Dad's 'celebration of life.' I have so many memories of your Mom and how helpful and gracious she was to me when we moved next door. She had her hands full with the four of you but she always had time for me. Our families became very intertwined during those years and both your Mom and Dad were true blessings in our lives. Unfortunately I will be gone on April 27; I'm very sorry to miss what I know will be a very loving tribute to a remarkable wife, mother, and friend. I like to think she is once again at your Dad's side. Sending each of you my love. J

Lilis was full of fun and was my most tolerant duet partner ever, only telling me not to say "oops" out loud after a flub. She was very much into her "boys: and grandchildren. and many worthwhile things--a stalwart among Mason County Democrats. A long and accomplished life!. Janet Dawes

Tim, Tom, Jeff and Steve.... So sorry for your loss.
May her life be a blessing, and, May you find comfort among the other mourners.
The last time I was with Lilis, we had a wonderful family dinner, with Steve, Gretchen, and, their Girls, Charleigh, and, Harriette. After dinner, the girls entertained, with Harriette on Lilis' piano, and, Charleigh singing along. Lilis was 'conducting' with the music, and having a jolly time. Her face was almost glowing...
This is how I will always remember her: Enjoying her family, good food, and, music. Lilis was funny, smart, and, talented. She enriched my life, and, I am glad I could count her as my friend, as well as my "Co-Gramma."
Rest in Peace, Dear, I will miss sending you "a (Birthday) dollar to grow on...."
Love to all,
Nancy and Jennifer
